Great ambiance and decor. The tacos and drinks are blend of Texas Mexico breakfast. Some tacos are better than others but they do it’s job.
National Geographic photo icon Gerd Ludwig took us yesterday for lunch. I follow his recommendations as he sure has seen the world. I f***ing loved their flour tacos. Can't wait to go again! If you go - the entire street is worth a visit, make sure you visit the barber next door, and if it's just to sneak in, I tell you, it's worth it (however, they have other locations too, and no, they are not one of these chain restaurants).Back to the restaurant: would I make a 30+ min detour just to dine here (mandatory in my rating scheme to achieve five stars). You bet!
Any street taco stand is going to be tastier, but they do use quality ingredients here and the prices are reasonable. Try the queso. I like this place, but wouldn’t say I love it.

Nice atmosphere at the backyard with music. My husband loves the cheese in loaded queso.
Palomas were very good, some items such as texas toast brisket sandwich and frito pie were very tasty, but others such as picadillo and chicken were under seasoned. Portions are smaller than expected for the price. Service was great, both at the counter and seating areas.
Homestate is excellent. The brisket taco is by far the best of the meat based items, followed by the potato. I'd preffer if they tone down the cumin a bit, but it still very good. Breakfast options are great as well, though I almost always stick with the above. Get a paloma and rock on the Boulevard!
Picked up breakfast for my birthday and I was not disappointed. Definitely my favorite breakfast tacos in LA. Check them out. You won't regret it.
This is an excellent place for drinks. I haven't ever dined in, but did pick up an order once, and the people were just as friendly in person as on the phone. There's at least one woman who works there that's an absolute gem - I messed up an address for delivery and she helped me call around trying to fix it. Fortunately, our tacos, palomas, and margs made it to us perfectly safe! A few other times I've had to call because the prior delivery app they were on would always add milk to coffee and not let you remove or leave comments, and the women who answered then were also always just as friendly and helpful.I will say their tacos that get delivered don't always hold up super well. There's just one corn tortilla and they put a ton of filling in; I feel like the beans in particular are always spilling out and are a tad much. I do always love their breakfast tacos, which you an customize. Plus, their coffee is great (hot and iced) and, again, I cannot stress enough how tasty the drinks are. We tried the frozen spicy paloma for the first time a couple days ago and they weren't super spicy but were quite good. Their margs are pretty strong as well - both frozen and "iced". Oh, they also have a perfectly flavored hibiscus lemonade. It's got just the right balance of tart and sweet. Definitely worth trying.
Amazing breakfast tacos! Always get the flour tortillas, made in-house. Favorites are the trinity, Tijuana Panther, Guadalupe, Pecos, and Don’t Mess with Texas. Don’t forget the queso. And if you’re thinking about a brunch cocktail, the spicy Paloma is where it’s at.
