My family enjoyed eating gus,s fried chicken first time for us the waiters really nice people the Cole slaw very fresh every thing was delicious ?
I'm addicted to fried chicken and Gus’s was one of the best I had. The service was friendly, we even got a couple of tenders to taste. The green fried tomatoes were an excellent side dish and the mac n' cheese didn't dissapoint as well.
They have special on Monday and Tuesday. They give a military discount. Customer service is wonderful. They serve beer.
Had some really good fried chicken here! Spice was just right, skin nice and crisp, the inside full of flavor and very hot. Can definitely recommend this place!
Amazing! Exceeded expectations! A friend really wanted us to try this place and I’m so glad we did! Lived up to the hype! I cannot describe what makes their chicken so tasty but it is perfectly seasoned and juicy! I had the tenders which are huge! Serious each tender is like a chicken cutlet.. I only ate one and a half. They were easily the best tenders I ever had in my life. The max and cheese was out of this world! Fries were perfect! I was allowed to try the potato salad which was very good and creamy! The beans were tangy and delicious… if I had to choose one item to live without it would be the coleslaw… hubby liked it but I like my slaw thicker but I recommend this place to anyone and can’t wait to return!!
I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Today's visit was prompted by an Off the menu promotion for a massive piece of fried chicken, or for a $4 upgrade, 4 additional pieces of mouth watering chicken. I also ordered a large sweet tea as well which was pretty solid. If you want fried chicken, stop reading here and go to gus's. Just make sure to grab a few napkins because your fingers will be moist after eating these ??. Shout out to Eric and Michelle for the awesome service!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! the chicken is ridiculous ?!!! not overly breaded. fried perfectly. I had the 2 piece white meat plate. super juicy with nice crunchy corners like skillet fried chicken. the baked beans are great. the cole slaw is amazing(not too much horseradish). the potato salad reminds me of home; perfect mix of mayo and mustard. the fried okra is not house made, I'm sure, but wonderful nonetheless. fried green tomatoes are a lil soggy, but flavorful so I will order again. the mac and cheese is not good. lastly, I don't know what chess pie is, but get it!!
I was in Gus's world famous fried Chicken yesterday around 6:00 p.m. I had ordered online via Postmates received a text message that the order was ready. When I arrived there was one person in front of me it was a young man who had obviously never ordered before and was inquisitive about the chicken which is understandable. The cashier, who was a young black girl with a curly weave and she also wore glasses, seemed to be very helpful and I observed as the customer and cashier completed the transaction and his order was placed. However the conversation, which had little to do with the chicken continued and after about 3 minutes I noticed that they were basically socializing. By now I had been waiting about 10 minutes so I waved my phone to indicate that I was picking up in order. I stepped to the counter and gave my name and my tray of chicken was shoved at me and never had I been acknowledged never had I been thanked for the order what I did hear after I was picking up my shoved chicken and was walking towards the door is the cashier apologizing to the previous customer for the interruption. INTERRUPTION!? I WAS INTERRUPTING HER SOCIALIZING WITH THE PREVIOUS CUSTOMER AFTER I HAD BEEN TOTALLY IGNORED AND AFTER MY FOOD HAD BEEN SHOVED AT ME. THIS CASHIER NEEDS TO BE RETRAINED ON PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE ON PROPER ETIQUETTE AND ON COMMUNICATING RESPECTFULLY. YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER BECAUSE OF THIS PERSON I WILL NOT BE DISRESPECTED BY SOME YOUNG INEXPERIENCED CASHIER'S inconsiderate attitude. Your chicken cost a lot $30 for 10 chicken tenders is a lot you won't be getting my $30 ever again and you owe that all to your young minimum wage earning inexperienced inconsiderate cashier. Good luck with that person.
Reminds me of back home in the south.Hands down some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Not greasy, insanely packed with flavor and the sides are to die for.Fried pickles are the move if you’re a real southern comfort foodie.10/10 for flavor, value and consistency
My sister's friend recommended this place. Their chicken is great. Not only was it crispy, it was very moist and had a spicy kick to it. Unlike like other fried chicken this chicken was NOT greasy at all. The Mac and cheese was also great too.The young lady who helped us at the register was so welcoming. Being that we mentioned it was our first time there, she gave us great tips on what to do order. Oh ! There's also parking in the back. Don't get discouraged to stop by because it does seem like there's no parking but i can assure you that there is. You'll enter off of Crenshaw on the right hand side.I'll be back for more when craving fried chicken ?
