This restaurant is an iconic LA location. Gus’ is the epitome of an LA burger. You must try them if you are a burger aficionado. Their lentil soup is awesome as well whenever it’s available. Be ready for long lines if you come at lunch or rush hour. This place is loved by everyone who lives nearby

Ordered the panini pastrami sandwich. No mustard no pickles, dry! Sandwich was absolutely disgusting! After one bite I threw it away. It wasn't even good enough to give to someone homeless. The pastrami had so much fat on it. I felt like I was eating fat with little pieces of pastrami. So, not healthy as advertised. They also put some sort of spicy sauce on the bread when I asked for it to be dry. Worst pastrami sandwich I've ever had. I'd rather go to Brolly hut or Johnnie's. But to be fair, their Turkey burger is great, and their soups and Arnold Palmers tea.

A great find! Large selection of menu items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - see menu online. There are American, Mexican, and Greek influences all visible in their food. Despite the "Drive-In" name, there is pleasant seating inside, and a lovely covered outdoor patio with tables.Food quality is excellent, and staff are friendly and helpful. Portion sizes are large. Just a great place to eat.

Every beautiful city has one or more of those places that are just as much about history and experience as the food. The original, looks like a junkyard, but it adds to the charm. Is not. It's clean but intentionally worn, so don't miss the automatic U-turn. Waiters are seasoned long timers who know what's good and what their customers want. Great for a huge, calorie-be-cursed traditional breakfast. You won't find quinoa or gluten-jam anything, and it's not the right place for picky people who always get their orders screwed up. But the food is a tough American cost - ham and eggs, steak, stick to the ribs things. Relax and enjoy. Any resident of Los Angeles who has not been here is not a resident of Los Angeles.

Worth a try, I'm sure a pure American would love a meal, however if you're not used to eating 3000 calories in a single meal it can be a little tricky to review. The food is original as it can be and better than most places that claim to be an old American diner.

Is this the best kept secret in L.A. or what? If my coworker didn't put me onto this place I would have missed out on their fresh food and very fair prices. The meals come with a drink! I usually get double the fries instead of getting half salad, but the salad is good too. Burgers are classic, pretty huge, and their paninis are great. Great club sandwich, could only finish half in one sitting. Portions are generous but not grotesque. I go here at least once a month, if I lived closer it would probably be a weekly occasion.

Excellent food, the long drive through line tells the whole story. I used to enjoy the burger quiet a bit, but have found the turkey burger and chicken torta to be absolutely excellent.

Honestly! The best cheese burger I've had in a few years. Im like....wow...as i am eating this burger. The beef was quality, everything on this burger was fresh and so tasty. Ive been driving by for years (my mistake) and decided to give it a try. Sincerely, this burger 1/3 rd pound cheese burger was so delicious. But conversely, the fries are ok. I get it, they are pushing a more balance and healthy menu. Ive better fries but that burger completely made up for the fries. My office mates saw me eating my burger and they were impressed by construction. Very neatly stacked and it was a huge burger! Highly highly recommend this place!

Breakfast panini was good. Hashbrowns weren't crispy though. We prefer crispy hashbrowns...steak eggs combo was good too. Ill try more items from this place in the future. The Greek fusion kind of throws me off but ill try it one day

Food was great. It would've been 5 stars, but...One staff member in particular was atrocious, to say the least. She spoke to me in a language I didn't know, and when I asked her what she said, she shut the drive-thru window in my face. I was shocked. I asked for a manager or supervisor and was denied anyone, including when I asked when the owner would be in next given that it's independently owned. I requested her name and was also denied that.Another staff member came and apologized on her behalf, but it wasn't sufficient. She wasn't apologizing, so it didn't mean anything.I was deeply disappointed as I came back to visit this part of town after years of not visiting. Gus, if you're reading this, I am apalled at the treatment I received; I NEVER in my lifetime did I expect anything remotely close to this experience.
