Their pizza is so good.Tonight I got a 6 inch meatball sandwich with extra c peheese.It was very delicious. The meatballs are seasoned perfectly . the tomatoe sauce and cheese go together and make the sandwich complete.If you haven't tried Giamela's . You definitely should .

Giamela's is probably the best place for subs in Los Angeles. I have been coming here since I was a kid and while there are a few less locations, the subs haven't changed.The pepper steak is their signature sub along with their meatball and pastrami. Giamela's offers other varieties (hot and cold) and also has pizza and pasta in addition to their sandwiches. Their subs are piled high with meat and their hand chopped relish of pickles, onions and tomatoes.The interior has seating, but isn't particularly inviting. The vibe is definitely basic. Service on the other hand is always friendly and cheery. Prices have been updated to the 2020s (they aren't selling $6 subs anymore) ?? ...so yeah, prices are moderate now...but worth it.
One of my favorite local sandwiches! For less than $15 & a 3 minute walk, I can get one of the best turkey sandwiches I’ve ever had. I know that may sound kind of boring, but the basil pesto mayo is my FAVORITE! I’m giving myself a break from meat right now and the main thing I’m craving is that sandwich. Can’t wait to go back to get it soon!
If I could give this experience of exploding flavors and savory pepper steak 10 stars I would. They cook the steak with red bell peppers in this amazing flavor of juices and top it with pickles, tomatoes, and onion's. I don't like raw onions so I don't get them. I've tried all three locations, Burbank, Sunland and Los Feliz and the Los Feliz Giamela's has the bomb pepper steak sandwich. The other locations are very good too so if your close to one of them do stop by and visit. Giamela's has a veriety of sandwiches and pizza and Italian dishes. I also tried the pastrami sandwich and it was very delicious too. My family fell in love with the pepper steak as did I and I will definitely go back to order many more. Combo large sub - half pepper beef, half pastrami / 5 ?!Giamela's is the place to go if you want a huge, tasty sub that is 85% meat. They have been around for a long time and I've been enjoying them every few months since I landed in Los Feliz over 2 years ago.I recommend eating it fresh. I ate in the restaurant and there is so much juicy meat that the sub bun was already getting soggy.I ate this masterpiece of a sub after a 12 mile hike and it was perfection.
I'm a fan! The pepper steak sub is the way to go here. If you never had it make sure you try it! All the others subs are good too but the pepper steak has so much flavor and it's loaded with melted cheese and diced pickles and onions. My friend and I also tried the pastrami pizza which we both agreed was bangin'. If you come here make sure you're hungry and ready to eat. Make sure to call in your order or go with plenty of time since it gets busy during the lunch rush.
Best Italian Sandwich in LA! Order the Mr.G's and it will change your sandwich life. Seriously, these things are huge, loaded to the brim with tons of chopped toppings. They have amazing pickles, the food is alwaysade right, you can customize all you want. Make sure you also try the soup!
