Coming to this bakery shop during July 4 weekend, the best Mochi in town. Waiting line is long and it is worthy for great mochi tastes.
Their mochi is really tasty and great quality. It’s good for gift. There is always line, so be prepared to wait. Some grocery stores around this area might have their product (basic products though), Little Tokyo Marketplace has some of their mochi. So if you don’t want to wait too long, you can try there.I tried to go there opening time once to avoid line up, but they didn’t have strawberry mochi early in the morning.
Their mochi is fantastic. Make sure to try their fresh strawberry daifuku if they have it.
This is a cozy bakery shop in little Tokyo with mochi and other kinds of Japanese snacks. I really enjoyed their traditional-style Mochi. I picked eight different flavors including a weekend-special strawberry one. Every flavor tasted so delicious and the price was very reasonable too. It’s around 1.75 dollar for one Mochi. I will be visiting here again very soon.
Absolutely amazing mochi. It’s perfectly soft, melts in your mouth and delicious flavors and fillings. So much better than the mochi you find in supermarkets. They are also beautiful and make great gifts. It is a highlight of Little Tokyo.
Incredibly delicious sweets! The most authentic mochi that you can get without traveling to Japan. It was an enormous honor to support a family owned business that’s over a century old. Definitely don’t leave Little Tokyo without stopping by. Even if there’s a line they’ll zip you through lightning quick!
One of the few places I really try to visit when I am in LA. Obviously, Fugetsu-Do is an institution like no other.Do your homework and figure out what you want beforehand. Stand in line and relish the mochi carefully prepared for many years. The peanut butter and chocolate are nontraditional but real fan favorites. I feel guilty for loving them so. I came at 830am, when everything in Jtown was calm and quiet. They shelves are full and this is when the Asian moms shop, armed with a day's tasks and they bring their discerning palates. Lovely.
Delicious manju and mochi. I grew up eating all these delicious treats as a kid. My family would always bring a box to town when visiting from LA. Now that Benkyo-Do in SF is closed and Mikawaya is closed we must keep these guys going! Even if you don’t like the traditional items, their Kit Kats and chocolate mochi are delicious.
the best mochi I’ve ever had! It was a lovely shop and perfect experience - I couldn’t recommend more.
Excellent mochi, they've been in business for over 100 years and it shows. Lots of variety, and they occasionally bring in seasonal items with new flavors and textures. It's always soft and fresh, plus they have other snacks and treats in stock to try.
