Wow the spaghetti and lamb tenderloin were amazing! That spaghetti, by far the best I've ever had. I was so impressed by the lamb. It is just bursting with flavor. The lamb was cooked medium rare and I highly recommend it that way. The crust on the bottom and the soft meat at the top make it a texture delight.
Wasn't a fan of the offputting hostess. The restaurant is very small and we arrived 15 minutes early. Wouldn't suggest doing that. There's nowhere to wait other than outside in the cold (8PM dinner). The hostess was rude and wasn't very welcoming. Not the way I would have liked to begin my dining experience at EMC Seafood & Raw Bar. However, our waiter was very nice and had a great personality. He suggested a nice bottle of wine and offered menu suggestions. He was very attentive. We ordered 5 different dishes. All were good but not overwhelming amazing. With all the dining options in LA dont think I'd return to EMC Seafood & Raw Barjust quite yet.
Yes. $1.50 oysters now (instead of $1) but still highly recommended?
That was about it ; the main course of lamb was undercooked and disgustingly chewy. The dish was a letdown and the sides were nothing to write home about. I guess this is a product of their fame that they can either let people down or maybe people like me expect too much for a well known restaurant to keep up their standards and innovative taste.. Rather finally dining at EMC Seafood was like when my parents told me I was going to Disneyland only to take me to a playground.
Solid place with hearty fare and larger portions. I had their signature uni fusilli with grated tuna heart - it was good, but not phenomenal, and I wish there were more uni flavor. The SO got the fresh spaghetti with cured fish roe but subbed out the fish roe for the pork sugo sauce from the gnochetti. The waiter seemed mildly insulted about the substitution lol. We shared the oven roasted prawns, but the quality was hit or miss. One of the prawns I had was great, but another one was not fresh and the texture was off.
Indoor and outdoor is available now. Very Sardinian (Italian)!! The greatest seafood dishes here - whole Calamari fresh from Monterey, Anchovies were the best app. for me! Big Italian wine list too - full of modern gems as well as some classic bottles.
Happy hour is bangin and unmatched. Great well priced oysters. The garlic noodles are a must. Sake good and cheap, not too busy and a cute little spot. Would recommend happy hour to anyone in town.
Came here for the happy hour $1 oysters, 5pm-7pm daily. Was absolutely delicious. Also got the crab bisque, lobster roll and the Uni pasta, they were all very good, especially the pasta. Not for those who don't like the taste of sea urchin but if you like it, this pasta is for you. Will definitely recommend for a good night out with friends!
1 dollar oysters happy hour everyday. Very fresh. Love this location in Los Angeles. The one on santana row yuck and more expensive and sitting is not attractive like LA location
Came for happy hour because they have $1 oysters!:) Their happy hour 5to7 is really good! Had hot sake for 2 for $8. The dining moved to the 3rd floor so you go into the mall all the way up to 3rd floor to access restaurant. Great ambience!
