Fun outdoor Filipino skewer self-grill spot. Remember that skewers are only during dinner houes
Very cool spot for Filipino street food. We came on Friday night and it was super crowded. Park on the residential streets nearby to avoid a headache. The food was delish and it’s super fun to grill outside. Just be prepared for crowded weekends and the new price– dollar twenty five hits!
Visiting from Texas, Dollar Hits-Temple was one of our "must go" to place in LA; after seeing it on the show Best Ever Food Review. This place did not disappoint and it definitely took us back to the streets of Philippines! Food was good, it was cheap and they had most of everything we used to eat back home, drinks too! First, you purchase what you want,($1/stick) inside the store, you then head outside to where the grills are at, find an open spot in the grill and you grill your own bbq sticks. They have workers outside who monitor the grill and if you are a first timer, they basically help you out. Outside you have the community table, find a spot and just chill with the others. Other customers were just hanging out just chatting, eating and listening to music. Owner was very hospitable, she even took her time to hangout with us outside, making sure everyone was enjoying.
It’s dinner dates at dollar hits with my wife and mother in law that make me so grateful for the family I married into! The food here is always so fresh!! Decently priced and the only Filipino BBQ of its kind in the area! I always go wait for a table while my wife waits on line to get the food. The grills are also something that you have to wait for as well so being kind and patient is key to having a great night! Chicken feet, pork and fish balls are my favorite! And don’t forget the balut! It’s always perfectly cooked here and so delicious!!The parking lot is small so try to find parking when you are down the street! But be respectful because Dollar Hits is in the middle of a neighborhood.
?? PHILIPPINES (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - Most people outside of Filipinotown make their way here for bbq skewers at night, but for my money the lunch options are even tastier.
Dollar Hits is a popular Filipino BBQ spot grill it yourself spot. Most sticks of meat were $1. Some were $1.25 each. They also had a bunch of snacks, goodies, and other stuff.I got this bowl of salmon. It was a huge portion for 6 bucks or so. It was very creamy and delicious. I would get this again and again. It was interesting how there were a couple of grills and people just grilled their raw food to their desired smokiness.
This is place is a cool laid back spot. The food is amazing but the ambiance is what really makes this place stand out. The staff is friendly and helpful but overall everyone here employee or not is so nice. They have community tables set outside, where you can either keep to yourself or join in with the table, for the most part it feels like a Sunday bbq with friends and family. I would’ve liked to upload photos of my visit but I’m usually having to much fun and keep forgetting. But definitely stop by if you’re in the area, the parking lot itself is usually full but there’s plenty of street parking.
Damn good. Friendly people great food. Thank you for the experience
Always wanted to try Filipino street food, so when I saw this spot on a Strictly dumpling YouTube video I knew I had stop by and check it out. Around 6pm this place was full of people and 6 grills going at the same time. Big variety of food options for you to bbq yourself. Overall a delicious experience. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
Feels like home when you hit this spot!!!
