We had the dinner there after a show. It was quite late and there was still a long queue outside of the restaurant. So I highly recommend to get a number before heading there. The food was quite good. We had the ramen and cold dipping noodles and some dumplings. All good and delicious. The price is ok. The service was quite good except a waitress was a little weird but doesn’t bother us (to be honest ?)
My second time here. Wonderful place, super food. Had ramen and rib eye salad. I will return!
Had the vegan ramen here, it was good! Nice, spicy and flavorful. Would’ve liked more vegan/vegetarian ramen options.
Japanese atmospheric ramen place - appreciate that we can still get food when all other restaurants are closed.Ordered its Daikokuya Ramen ? and Gyoza ?. Would recommend the ramen as my comfy food after a flight.
Getting there at 1630H, we only had to wait for around 10 minutes. Once seated, we were attended quickly and the waiter was very helpful. Had the gyoza, takoyaki and their daikoku ramen. I really like the ramen’s broth, it was rich and not too salty. The takoyaki was also a pleasant surprise! The flavor is good and the octopus is well cooked. Definitely worth a visit.
This is a quick delight! I came for a quick meal and made it to their happy hour! The broth was rich and savory. Because I ordered the half ramen bowl on the happy hour, I was overwhelmed with a lot of bean sprouts. So heads up!They also have hot sake and beer.Staff was so chill. It wasn’t packed or a long wait at all. If you’re looking for a quick bounce back come here for their happy hour!
Daikokuya has different locations, and the one in Little Tokyo I heard is very crowded with long wait time, so we decide to go to the one in Sawtelle. Also, you can join the waitlist on Yelp to reduce wait time. The ramen is decent. We feel like the broth doesn't have a lot of flavors going on; a little bland I guess. Gyoza is not crispy like we expected, but the filling is delicious tho.
I’ve been to the one in Little Tokyo but this one is more convenient to come to. It is honestly my favorite ramen place in LA. I’ve had a lot of ramen in my day and this one has the best size noodles and the most flavorful broth. Highly recommend!
Went here with some friends yesterday and we ordered a bunch of things. Pretty much everything was good, and some items were very good.Loved the Gyoza - probably the best item we had yesterday. The sausages were very good too.The fried rice was decent, but didn't stand out. Thought it was a little drier than I like. The spicy ramen was good! Not particularly spicy though.Good service. We had a group of 6 and was able to get seated outside in under 20 minutes, at 6:15PM on a Friday.Inside the restaurant looks like crowded Tokyo streets - thought it was interesting.
The perfect way to spend a Sunday night. Brazilian jazz by Jay and his gang. It's got the sort of vibe as if you walked in on a bunch of guys jamming together for the pure joy of it. Liza Silva is the vocal treat if you catch her.
