BEWARE the payment system is “off”.Plus be careful, I was going to leave a tip but the 15% tip option was $3 on a $12 order. #scammersThese bagels are good. Not the best I’ve had but good if there is no other option. Tasty and good crust. My bagel score is 8.5/10 overall (for LA 9.6/10)

If an NYC bagel got sick of the city, moved to California, became pescatarian on the weekdays, and started teaching pilates, it would find its home at Courage Bagels. You’ll find Courage on a corner in unassuming Virgil Village, Los Feliz and Silver Lake’s coming of age cousin. The bagels are crispy on the outside, fluffy within, and buried under savory salmon and bright vegetable goodness. You can even order the everything bagel burnt, well done Courage! See what I did there? Come prepared for a line, but leave wanting turn around for seconds.

I would usually never categorize myself as someone who would enjoy paying $20+ for a bagel sandwich. But here I am, and I’m unashamed to say it. There’s just something diff about these bagels that I’m willing to pay the premium. They have such a tender crisp and forgiving chew. And the lovely staff just make you want to love them and look past all the dollar signs. Definitely am coming back.

It was worth the 30 min wait. Bagels are slightly crunchy and so tasty. Highly recommended the everything bagel (flavory). Beverages are not the best?

The people working get 5 stars. They are attentive and kind. But the bagels, wait-time AND PRICE put my overall feelings at 3 stars. 2 bagels 2 drinks = $42 (not including tip). The bagels themselves are good, but not exceptional, the toppings however are excellently sourced and fresh. I had a 1/2 Everything with cream cheese, 1/2 Burnt Everything Salmon and wife had 1/2 Burnt Everything Simply Delicious and 1/2 Run It Thru the Garden, added an americano and an iced tea.

now is your chance to wait 3 hours on line for a bagel

Waited for an hour but it was worth the wait. We had Salmon Roe / Poppy and Sardinia w/Everything. Bagels are light and crispy, the filling with cream cheese and dill makes a good combination even better.

Well, it appears you can get a good bagel in LA after all! Courage makes seriously tasty, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside bagels! I adore their everything bagel. I had mine with cream cheese and lox, capers and onion. Ok, so I also had a Roe bagel too. It was piled high with salmon roe and was simply magnificent. How could I resist?By this point I had pretty much given up on my diet and was resigned to this being a "cheat day" and "in for a penny, in for a pound" and all. So I toasted up a sesame salt bagel at home and ate that too. It was so worth it!These bagels are awesome! Oh the heck with it, have courage, courage bagels. On my next cheat day you know where I will be. How about you? Highly recommend.

Best bagels in LA, hands down! So tasty and worth the drive and the wait

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a minute. Got up early one morning to get there at opening and there was a line already! I got the smoked salmon on burnt everything bagel. Amazing! Pricey! Total $17 with tip, but what isn’t pricey in LA? Amazingly fresh and well balanced! I may not be paying $17 for a bagel every other morning… But, I will be returning!
