Wanted to visit a place where I could sit and do some studying and enjoy some good coffee. First off the coffee is great ! I ordered the Figueroa and the Maria cookie was the perfect compliment! I really enjoyed the flavor and appreciate that there wasn’t an overwhelming milky flavor. The chilaquiles had a great flavor and were fresh! I was really surprised. The service was great and I got my coffee out quickly.Though everything tasted great, I do have to knock of a star for two reasons. The first and most annoying was the fact that there’s NO WIFI HERE. Luckily I have hotspot to keep my devices running but Imagine that if you don’t have it then working here is close to impossible. Second, there’s only one power outlet here which made it a little tricky when my laptop started to die. Luckily the person sitting next to the outlet left before my computer died.Overall, would come back for the coffee and food but will have to rethink doing work here.

Amazing drinks, they offer alternative milks and the atmosphere is great! Also it is a latino owned business and I love supporting my community. Will be coming here again soon!

Had our first cup of Joe and were hooked. Just left rehab and we’re already headed back to Civil Coffee. Great vibes - great food and great big eyes… who wants to talk?

Lines can get long on weekend late mornings, but the service is quick and seating is plenty! Cold brew is delicious here.

Civil Coffee is a great spot to get caffeinated or just relax in Highland Park. The shop is spacious, has an expansive drink and food menu, and service is pretty friendly.I ordered a cappuccino and a barbacoa burrito. Coffee is decent, although it's half an inch short of the 8oz. cup. I don't know, maybe here a cap is only 6 oz. The burrito is really tasty with juicy scrambled eggs and beef barbacoa, it looks a bit small for the price but indeed quite filling. It's worth the little wait, I appreciate the freshly made breakfast. There are plenty of seats: two rows of beautiful sunny spots by the front door, several tables inside the coffee shop; and many more in the back patio with abundant space. Fantastic place if you prefer to sit down and enjoy your coffee or meal.

This used to be my regular MCAT study spot after MCAT class. The place itself is very spacious, plenty of study seats and outlets around. The only problem is the spotty Wifi, but you can always personal hotspot from your phone. The coffee itself is good; I always go for the black pour over or cold brew.

coffee is banging lets get that right but the staff here has major attitude and lack manners. a hello wouldn’t kill you but i’ve noticed my brown face never gets treated as kindly as the several hipsters who usually order before me. then yall wonder why people are put off but dont think this will their hurt business at all.

My favorite thing about this place is that it has ample seating. Most of the seating is outdoors, but I didn’t mind that at all. The coffe tasted fine, but all I had was plain coffee, so I can’t judge them too much. If you want a place to hang out with friends, this is definitely a good place. And if you want to grab a bite to eat afterward there are plenty of nearby restaurants.

I loved the Cortado so much and I think it was fabulous compared to the other ones that I have tried so far. However, the cookie had so much salt for some reason. Overall, it was an amazing experience for a visitor in LA.

Overrated place. No wifi and very very bad music. Not peaceful. Coffee and the workers was good. That’s all.
