Shrimp dinner is really tasty. The food is fried up quick and served hot. I like the hot sauce and tartar sauce.
I love me some catfish, and this place satisfies me every time I get my 7 piece catfish. They cook it just right, and I love their tartar sauce and hot sauce. I am very picky about the tartar and hot sauce, but these are perfect for the catfish. I have had Penguins catfish and a couple of other catfish plates in L.A. However, Charlie's is the best! They are also super fast with my order, even if I have ten plates- I never have to wait too long.
Stopped here while on vacation in L.A. and had a taste for some catfish. A quick google and this place popped up. Great decision. The catfish was really good!
Great fish! The food is cooked to order and always fresh and hot. Highly recommend the red snapper, catfish and shrimp. The food is also very reasonably priced.
The Best fried fish in Midtown/West LA...they are better than Ricks Fish...Mels Fish...Collins Fish.. and Penguins...trust its always good and prices and Quality are Excellent !!

I'm originally from Houston and I miss a good mess of catfish from time to time. I make it myself, but that's different. Charlie's is excellent! I had the catfish lunch special, worth every penny. Fish was meaty and cooked to perfection. I'll go back for sure.
If you like it fried fish, fried chicken, fried oysters or pretty much fried anything, this is the place to be. I personally like the fried catfish, it's always cooked perfectly and super tasty. Now this IS NOT health food so if yo big butt is on a diet steer clear of this place but if you're rocking the Yolo mentality you'll definitely love this spot!
