Cafe con leche and a guava and cheese pastelito. Amazing. I could eat this every Sunday.
I used to love the tropical. Nowadays everytime I go I'm disappointed with their service. They take forever to make a basic egg and cheese croissant. I waited over 25 minutes for a rubbery egg croissant! They charged me for a guava cheese pastry but when I went to go asked for it they claimed the didn't have any. Why are you charging for something you don't have??! Overall, I'm not wasting my money there anymore.
We came here for coffee and pastries and everything was delicious. Really cute cafe. I went to their sister restaurant, el Cochinito, for dinner and I can’t get that Cubano sandwich out of my mind. It is next level.

Spent my afternoon in this lovely Cuban-American style cafe in Silver Lake area. Such a perfect place for chilling or working with free wifi. My server was really nice. She definitely deserves a shout out!There is a great variety of hot sandwiches. I recommend media noche sandwich ($14) that comes in sweet bread. They also have choices of healthy drinks. Try tia bertha green juice ($7.5) which is a healthy veggies & fruits mix. Unlimited self-service filtered water is available too!Desserts here are real gems. Cuban birthday cake ($4.5) is really soft. My favorite item is granola coconut yogurt parfait ($8) with fresh zesty jam at the bottom!

New ownership and tweaked menu! Pastries are incredible and coffee is better imo
