I ordered the ???cheeseburger with bacon 1000 island lettuce and tomatoes and pickles and onion ring. At $10.99!!! I didn't ask for well done I just let them cook it how they cook it? the Burger was dry very dry how do you have a fried Burger that is dry. No juice from the Burger nor flavor Just bland and dry. The Onion rings were great or great. My wife had chili cheese fries ???they were on point let's chill then before covid.
The best way to describe this restaurant would be white people Mexican soul food. I like it here. It’s a comfortable spot with decent food. I’m not saying that they are 5 stars but they are a good breakfast spot. I do not recommend the ox tails. Skip that for real! Breakfast is generic so I like coming here for a decent price and good service! My cup never runs dry and the staff is friendly! It’s close to home. The chick and waffles are really good! I definitely recommend that! The wet stake burrito is good. I recommend putting their salsa on top.
All of the food on our plates were fantastic. My yams did not have strings in them! Most of my soul food restaurants have strings in their yams.The customer service was excellent too. ?
I use to go here all the time I would of gave it a 3 for how disappointed I am in there quality. Beyond the disappointment I use to come here since I was 5 and it’s been over 19 years I came here there food had always been good when the pandemic started I started to see the changes in the food quality. The chilaquiles weren’t so spicy and the sauce were starting to be salsa sauce instead of real Chile guajillo sauce. The cocido had still been good till today. The corn on the cob is the one that is frozen And less meat. Which is ok because of inflation but the corn really shocked me this time. I still would recommend but I have mixed feelings today about the cocido and chillaquilles. We’ll see. ( Disclaimer all reviews are honest and from my own experience they are only to help people decide and also for progress) - I’m glad I ordered on DoorDash because I would of been embarrassed to get a refund in such a old school restaurant that had been the best prior the years.
Been going here every other week since i discovered it. Food is great, service is amazing and the environment is perfect. Wings with french toast or a breakfast burrito are my go-to.
CJ's is a great casual restaurant with awesome breakfasts and lunches. We go multiple times each month. Prices are super reasonable, the service is fast and friendly! You can't lose with this spot. Sidewalk seating is on point too! Kudos!
