I'm from Boston Massachusetts, where hoagies, or submarine sandwiches are great. Cheesesteaks are a big thing and not every restaurant can master them. I was very disappointed with my sandwich, it was small, the bread was soggy, tough, flavorless and if there was cheese it was not apparent. My stomach is still paying for it. Iwould not recommend this restaurant to even my enemies. Horrible!
Second time ordering from this place on grubhub and still amazed by how good it tastes. The portion is definitely not huge but I think it's enough for one person. And have I mentioned the taste? I think their chiz whiz is a must.
This is a true Philly cheese steak. From the cheese wiz to the bread. Haven't had a real Philly cheese steak since moving to Cali. So many places claim to offer true Philly Cheese Steaks but it is all about the bread. Thank you Boo's for making me a little less homesick.
Lived in Philly area for 20 years and moved to LA a little over a year ago and have been missing having some good food , this place is very good for real Philly cheesesteaks, I wish they had a bigger size for their cheesesteaks but I definitely will return
It's ok, not really worth going out for.Was excited to try the cheese steak, since it gets tons of hype and good reviews online. I haven't had a decent cheese steak since I was in Chicago or NYC, and thought maybe this would be decent.Cheese steak meat tasted good enough, but it was so thinly sliced it was like meat slivers. There was hardly any seasonings to the meat except for salt, it seemed waaaaay too salty. They really skimp on the cheese too. We ordered provolone and I thought they must have forgotten to put cheese on the sandwich when we got it, turns out it was basically just one slice (they charge you $2.00 extra for more cheese).Peppers and onions didn't seem flavorful or caramelized; I'm not sure how they are cooking things there, but they didn't seem like they were cooked on a hot flat top grill. Very minimal char or caramelization going on.Bread was soft and soggy and tasted like a hot dog bun. Was basically mush by the time we got our sandwiches to the car (about ten minutes). Even Subway bread holds up better than this.Overall score in terms of edible-ness versus price versus meeting expectations based on Google reviews? 5/10. Probably wouldn't go back.
No other cheesesteak stacks up to Boo's in LA. I've been to phillys best, juicy's, charlie's, figueroa philly, etc.. and none are in the same bracket. The whiz is the best, bread is authentic and the fries are on point too.
Good cheesesteak, good prices great location
Best Philly cheese steak I ever bitten ntew ? (in LA)! Definitely a must tew try
I drove from Gardena to get a cheese steak from this place and it took me an hour to get there. I ordered a steak Philly with extra meat, 2 chicken cheese steaks and two steak fries. It took me 45 minutes in traffic to get home AND THE FOOD WAS STILL HOT ??? I LOVE THIS PLACE. The food was excellent, it was so good I went to the one on Wilshire 4 days later... Two thumbs up (half extra meat is a must), the normal portion is good but extra made me smile bigger.
I still want to use this medium to express my gratitude and appreciation immeasurably to MR DONALD RICHARD.
