What a great brunch! Simply walk down through the breezeway and Blue Jam Cafe is about in the middle. Our server sat us very quickly outside with our mini poodle and we were shown the qr code and were able to order everything on our phones and pay as well. I got the eggs benedict and added a little habanero sauce for a little kick and it was perfect. My friend got the steak hash and loved it. The portions are GENEROUS and the mimosas were nice too. Loved it, would definitely return.
I love Blu Jam and consider it to be a top LA brunch place. This was my first time visiting the DTLA location and any Blu Jam post pandemic and it was disappointing. Here is what was great: the host is amazing: friendly and efficient. He is a great brand ambassador. The ambience is nice especially if you can sit in the patio area. There's great natural light. But what didn't work:It says on the website they use Yelp waitlist. They do not, at least not at the DTLA location. They use the QR code scanning version of ordering but it makes for an awkward brunch experience. The food doesn't come out in a specific order and the servers were too busy to address any of our questions. And depending on your mobile service we went through three phones to order before we could get the order through. My breakfast pasta wasn't served hot. And my coffee was also lukewarm. They don't serve coffee so you're expected to order another cup of coffee if you're done. I tried to ask the server a question about the French press and she said she came back and never did.Must park on the street or one of the surrounding lots which can easily add to the stress or $10. Open to hearing the best lots to park at!
Just be aware that once you get seated you got to order online via QR code on table once you’re at your table because there isn’t a waiter that will take your order. I didn’t know but my buddy told me after he got his food.Overall the food presentation is up there, I ordered the Power House with Egg whites, spinach and chicken(I’ve had other versions which were more flavorful but it did the job, chicken was tender and it was a descent size portion), side of chicken sausage(tasted good, but about average) & side of bacon(cooked perfectly and crispy).Definitely a great lunch spot but can get very very busy, lots of great restaurants/cafe’s on the row to visit also.***Update***Had their Chilequiles(delicious & recommend) and vanilla latte(amazing coffee!).
Love the meals and drinks❤️ Ordered their most famous dish - Crunchy French Toast, and Florentine Benedict. The French toast was so exquisite that we couldn’t bear to eat??
We ate at the one on Melrose in Hollywood and it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! My wife loved her food too and I especially liked the fresh squeezed apple juice… oh my! Big breakfasts with a big variety. So yummy.
Food is great, booking system not so much.
We went for a brunch with some friends to the one on Spring Street. It was pretty busy but we had our names on the waitlist and got seated pretty quickly. I liked the contact less ordering option and it was very user friendly. The service (those who greeted, seated, and helped with questions) was excellent. They were all so personable and kind which goes a long way.Food: I had the church French toast sticks and a breakfast hash. The French toast was sooo good!! Crunchy on the outside and the perfect texture on the inside. Whatever batter they dip it in is really good! The hash on the other hand was not great. It lacked seasoning in all areas and so I found myself dumping salt and anything else on it.Overall the French toast options were so good that I'd definitely recommend this place!
Overall great experience and the food was delightful. Ordered the huevos and cherry French toast. Everything is done via the QR code on the table.
Good breakfast spot in DTLA. Located in a little mall away from congested streets. lots of egg-based meals. No pancakes on the menu.
Cute cafe with very good breakfast! We had to wait quite a bit to be seated, but our food arrived quickly once seated. I had to order the crunchy French toast, of course, which was amazing. I personally love how you order and pay off your phone, along with getting everything you need yourself. It makes the whole process quick and easy. I would recommend reserving a spot on Yelp before heading there, just so you can virtually be on the wait list while driving there. Definitely recommend this place!
