A goto spot for quick cheap takeout that isn't fast food. High quality and very eclectic menu. Everything is delicious! Try the BBQ fries. Try the soft shell crab burger. Try the veggie burger. Everything is great!
Decent! They have all kinds of unusual burgers. I just tried a brunch burger. It has bacon, cheese, an egg, lettuce, and tomato. I switched to American cheese and added thousand island dressing. I did not get lettuce or tomato on mine. I had the 1940's fries, which are just krinkle fries. They were very well seasoned and crispy, just the way I like them. They only have a small, not very exciting selection of bottled drinks. They were extremely fast with my meal and it was served hot and fresh! I went about 6p on a Wednesday. The parking lot usually has a valet, but they weren't there, so free and convenient to park. They have an itty bitty indoor dining area with 3 small tables and counter dining. They also have a little patio dining area in front. The staff were very nice and I will definitely return for my future burger cravings!
We order the Brunch Burger and the Breakfast sandwich. Our expectations where low but they delivered! They tasted delicious and fresh. We also got a side of fries and those where cooked to perfection. We used the online menu and called in our order. My new favorite burger spot.
I recently went in to pick up lunch for myself and a colleague. The beautiful lady working the cash register was sooo sincere, sweet, hospitable and peaceful. I immediately felt a sense of warmth. We got the Black Sheep salad, the Caesar salad, Fries, Cauliflower wings, Buffalo Chicken wings and Brussel sprouts. The salad was very fresh but I forgot to tell them to hold the bacon. They were kind enough scoop the bits out for me.The lady at the cash register noticed the balsamic dressing was eating from my bag and she quickly repackaged everything for me and made sure I remembered to take my mineral water.Parking is a lot easier on a week day, other than that, it's the luck of the draw. This restaurant gets busy and stays busy regardless. Actually, I call Sawtelle the Restaurant Row because that whole place is jumping with delicious, various eateries and desserts, etc. This is definitely a spot to check out. Dog friendly, family friendly...Black Sheep burgers hit the spot. I would order the chicken again and try the California Roll burger with the panko fried chicken instead of beef.I wouldn't get the salad again and my colleague said her salad was just alright. I also wouldn't get the Brussel Sprouts again. RUSH in Culver City has some tasty sprouts and I make a very tasty rendition myself! Lol.I will put this restaurant back in my rotation and return to them before the month is over.
The food is fresh and excellent, especially for the seafood. However, the portions are a bit small. The setting is great and beautiful. This is a good place to have lunch or dinner. Although the hotel is not cheap, it is worth it.
This is not a review for this restaurant’s food as much as it is for their service. This past Tuesday around 4:30 PM I was taking my six year old to get ramen on Sawtelle and I found some awesome parking two blocks away from the restaurant, which is on the same block as Black Sheep Burgers. When we were getting out of the car she started screaming that she had to pee really badly and that I needed to get myself into gear. We ran across the street and by the time we turned the corner to head to the restaurant she was hissing “Hurry up, mommy!! It’s coming!! I can feel my pee coming out!!”.The first restaurant I saw was Black Sheep burgers, which we’ve been to before, but were not planning on eating at, and as we passed by the front window I could see that the lock on the bathroom door was turned to “green/vacant”, so I pushed my kid towards their open door and said “Go in there, go, go right now!”. The only person working at the front looked up when we walked in and I asked/told her we were coming in to use the bathroom, before she could say anything my kid was catapulting past her towards the bathroom door and this employee wasn’t able to get out of the way fast enough, so in my haste to get the door open for my kid and avoid catastrophe I inadvertently kicked the employee working there.Thankfully disaster was averted but when we left there was no eye contact made. I shuffled us out, looking down, and thanked them for letting us use their bathroom. Sorry I tripped over you a little. Appreciate!
Amazing burgers from Black Sheep / 26 Beach Co. Delicious, large and in charge, and the perfect size. What a treat. Please leave the McNasty on the menu forever, it's my #1 fave! ?
An absolutely wonderful little burger shop in the neighborhood. The food here is cheap, delicious, and definitely not greasy like fast food burgers. I’ve tried the brunch burger and the cranberry chicken sandwich, both are delightful. The staff here is always friendly and provided me with her suggestions. Great place for weekday lunch!
I got the California Burger and French fries. I was craving a good burger and found this nearby wanting to try something new. I always make it a note to ask the people working what they recommend. As the lady behind the counter pointed out what they are known for is the California Roll Burger.I received it and it was like warm. While the concept is interesting and unique - the execution was not. The ratio of crab to meat was off and overpowered the burger which is what I was craving. Not to mention the fries came cold.I think overall it’s a good concept but needs a little more attention to flavor profiles and ratio of theme possibly even a focus on preparation.
I had the 2x2 and the chili fries, and I can say they were delicious. The portion size of the fries were a plus and the burger reminded me of a double - double but a better version
