I have lived in this area for over thirty years. Been driving pass this hiding in plane sight treasure countless times. But I had to learn about it on line somewhere, and paid them a visit. I paid 21.64 and took my Baby Back Ribs home. I did not eat the receipt or the packaging. but every thing else was consumed in record time. There are six other business nearby that I often visit. But now I have Big Ant on my mind all the time. The two down sides are:It is very hard to find even when you on top of this place. The parking lot is too small. But even if you need a seeing eye dog, or have to walk in from where you had to park--- go anyway. Mouth Heaven awaits.
SOOOOOO good, their Mac N cheese is SO creamy. They have a lot of meat on their ribs. Love this place, my husband feels the same too.
I just tried Big Ant's, which is yielding 4.6 at the time of review. Unfortunately, nothing I ate validated the rating. I ordered brisket, baby baby ribs, a hotlink, coleslaw, and collard greens. Everything was just okay. The coleslaw tasted like it was store-bought. The collard greens were fine. The hotlink was a bit too salty and not spicy at all. The ribs were moist and tender, which is nice, but they were definitely overcooked as they didn't hold to the bone at all. I'm almost certain they were cooked in an oven rather than smoked, there was no smoke ring and no smoke flavor. The brisket (flat) was on the dry side, and it tasted like it came from an unhappy cow.
The Mac and cheese literally had no flavor. Would it kill them to throw in a pinch of pepper at least? I've had blue box Kraft taste better that bland garbage I got served. Bbq beans aren't supposed to be overly sweet either. The ribs are ok. Just ok.
The BBQ Is so good here. Meat falls off the bone. The greens are my go to as sides. I’ve had the ribs, chicken, links and loaded fries. Service is good. The team there in FOH consist of 2-3 people. They’re busy and efficient.
friendly staff and good food. i had hot links plate for 10 bucks, you get one link two sides. bbq beans and mac and cheese were delicious, and so were the links, i added one.
First time going by after work! Since I have my route and seen the advertisement during work hours! Had the brisket and bbq beans and cornbread! Full filling and good! Way to go big ant! Can’t wait to try the rest! And about sodium or other stuff that others say! Can’t make everyone happy! Not everyone could have too much sodium in their foods!!!
Lots of food and great service at a very reasonable price. I recommend everything. Juliana and Amaris are the best.
The meats are freakin amazing. The sides. Not at all. The mac n cheese is Bland no hint of salt or any flavor, coleslaw needs a little more sauce because it was dry, the beans I think are out of a can, but the meats the brisket is nice and tender melts in your mouth the chicken is delicious and there homemade spicy BBQ sauce is delicious if you go only get the meats. I will.
This is a good bbq joint - you can taste the quality of the preparation of the meat. The portions are very good and prices are reasonable for the food. The location is good with lots of seating and staff was very friendly. The brisket was juicy and probably the best tasting of everything else. They ran out of ribs so we got hot links and chicken. We also got beans and coleslaw. The greens was my favorite side dish - should have gotten a bigger portion for it. As for bbq joints if you like super rich and sweet then you'll love this place. By far the sweetest sauce on any meat out of any other bbq place I've tried and you'll get a hefty sugar dose from the beans and coleslaw. For me it was little more than I could handle without something to cut the sweetness which probably would have been a soda. I would say you'll do well with the brisket because for me it had the perfect seasoning and that's one of the toughest meats to get right. The hotlink was a little hefty for me but tasted quite good and had no sweet sauce on it.
