Recently visited the Benny’s Tacos location near LMU in Los Angeles for the first time and my life has been forever changed. Being from the Bay Area (San Francisco) I’ve never experienced Benny’s Tacos before. Now, let me start by saying that though Benny’s looks unassuming, the food is INCREDIBLE. The food was made fresh to order, not frozen or pre-made. The quality of the food is what is driving my five (5) star rating. The quality of the food is high and the taste is incredible. I ordered the carane asada (steak - excuse my misspelling) quesadilla and it was so amazing (see pictures). All orders came with chips, guacamole, and sour cream. Every Mexican restaurant should strive to be like Benny’s! Now, let me talk about the very helpful staff. They were friendly, helpful, and kind. If you are EVER near a Benny’s Tacos, you HAVE to try it. I can’t wait to eat there again. Lastly, be sure to check in on Yelp because you’ll get a 10% discount.
I tried to take a picture of my food, but it was too good. I accidentally ate it all first. ?I got some chicken tacos, my aunt got shrimp and beef ones. We shared a (HUGE!) plate of chips and salsa, not realizing that our tacos would come with them.Food was reasonably priced, incredibly flavorful, and super fast. I'm nowhere near being a local, but next time I'm in town I'm making a beeline straight from the airport back here!!!!
First time here and delicious ?. We tried the El pastor Taco ,El pastor was cooked very well it had great a flavor. The carne asada taco was also great. The ground beef taco have to say it was really delicious. I also tried the Chipotle chicken taco a lot of flavor. The tortillas is what makes the taco. Last but not least, I try to choodle and my goodness it was good. It has like a vanilla kind of pudding but it's not overpowering. It's just right. Will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu. The staff is very friendly.
Tacos are solid but damnnn that El Pastor Burrito!!!We stopped by here after building up an appetite working and wanted something good. We have a rule that we do not eat Mexican food outside of New Mexico, because it just never compares and is usually laughable. But we went against this rule and had to give Benny's a shot after reading the good reviews. El pastor Taco was solid, the rotisserie chicken Taco was solid, and the Carne asada Taco was definitely the best of the three. The Carne asada had pineapple chunks on it which was surprising but worked well with the well seasoned meat. The burrito... the California burrito was truly the size of a youth football! And with that much size came excellent eats!!! We ordered it with El pastor (as you pick your meat) guacamole, lots of jack cheese, sour cream, pico de gailo, and french fries!!! This burrito was sooo delicious and I wished that I had only ordered one of these, and another to go, to ear later! LolThe horchata was just meh but I believe the paper straw lead to the chalky taste I kept getting after every sip. I will be back! Nicely done Bennys!
Had the surf n turf burrito twice. One way ticket to downtown flavourtown. The shrimp in particular. Big pieces of delicious steak in there too. Huge well priced and absolutely jizzworthy. Had the veggie burrito bowl pretty good. The veggie quesadilla however too greasy Imo.
This is our family’s go to place for great tasting burritos. Always busy during meal times, so order early. Walking distance helps. Staff is very friendly and the GM takes care of any issues immediately. Grilled fish burrito is big enough for 2 meals and has a great taste. They do provide a good amount of chips with meals.
I visited this place yesterday because they got great reviews, so I wanted to try something new. I was extremely disappointed I ordered the chicken nachos, my daughter ordered the enchiladas, we live in The Valley and had to get back, so I hadn’t eaten yet. We I got home I noticed a lot of burnt chips and the chicken was supposed to be shredded, but they were in large chunks. My daughters nachos weren’t very good either. I’m very disappointed the prices were very expensive, waste of money. Disappointed.
Alot of the items on the menu are quite expensive! 1 taco is almost $4 .. so I had to try a burrito, I tried the surf and turf burrito, most expensive one on their burrito menu... I have to say, it was very delicious!.. (it consist of shrimp and steak, Caramelized onions-poblano peppers, Jack cheese and chimichurru cream) it had maximum flavor.. only reason why I'm giving it a 5 star.. but I feel if I had anything else.. this place is pretty accurate at a 4.4 star.. little wait time Is expected after ordering.Plenty of seating at the restaurant. Would recommend trying
Tasty tacos! The carne asada was really tender without any gristle. Chipotle chicken was hefty! Wish there was a bathroom so I could wash all the taco off my hands and face...since I ate like a champ. Giant portions of horchata.
Best breakfast burritos ever!!! Awesome!!!
