? Quiet place that deserves to be busier! Visited for dinner at the end of May 2022 and sampled the Anwar Style beef, and the Chicken wrap. Now, I am a big fan of shawarma style food, so when I say this place nearby CitizenM in downtown LA, I had to check it out. I'm very glad I did! The beef flavour was excellent, and the 'Anwar style' plate was an interesting take. Check it out!
I have been a huge fan of Mediterranean food all my life and have got the opportunity to explore the variation of it among the places I have travelled. The cusine really is bold and caters to your palette in a strong flavorful way.I recently got the opportunity to try the food at Anwar's kitchen in DTLA . Corner place with an ultra modern interiors, I was quite taken away by the food and service. It was completely empty on a Saturday post lunch hours which kinda gave the whole place to us .We ordered a bunch of stuff from there specialities - Chicken shawarma fries , grilled salmon, chicken wrap , chicken shawarma , chicken shawarma tacos , pistachio baklava and walnut baklava and the hibiscus tea .The food here is very rich , amazing presentation and quality ingredients.The pita and sauces served were all in house which explains the freshness of everything.I loved the chicken tacos , a great fusion with Mexican food taking small pita pockets and filling with the shawarma, topping it with some onion and then adding some salsa to the top, it was savory!Grilled salmon was really good, fresh , steaming served over bed of rice and some salad , it spoke of gourmet food .Loved the idea of spreading shawarma over fries and topping it with the sauces.I absolutely loved the baklava , both pistachios and walnut were heavy, rich , sweet and tasted authentic, its not an easy dessert to master.Overall experience was quite amazing and I can't wait to go back!
Food 5*Vibe 4*Service 5*Got to say that this place being a walk away from the fashion district is a blessing. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food fresh and delicious, you wont go wront with whatever you pick. The indor decor is cool, based off the youtuber Anwar since he is the owner.The fresh Hibiscus Tea is cool and refreshing after a long day. Definitely try this place out if you are in the area.Message to owner- please install a baby diaper changing station in the mens restroom. I had to use the womens one to do so.
Shout out to Steven and Lidia for taking amazing care of us and Chef Mo for showing us how they make their amazing food. The Anwar fries are so amazing and delectable. In my opinion they are way better than animal style fries. As for the falafel gyro, make sure you order and try it. One of the best falafel Gyro for sure. Also try their salmon plate. They get their salmon from Norway and it's fresh and very tasty. Their chicken, lamb and beef are roasted on a rotating spit. And finally dessert, the baklava was one of the best I've had. Really great dining experience. I'm glad I fasted all day for the feast that I had. Check it out and enjoy.

Famous halal middle eastern shawarma and felalfels. We ordered felafel salad, beef and chicken platter and Awar style. Everything was freshly made. Anwar style is a must try. Prices are reasonable. Not very fancy food but great for the price. Would recommend.
Delicious! A homeless guy came in and caused a scene and Anwar Kitchen Staff handled it perfectly! Great Staff! Very professional! Wish anwar was more attentive to his customers who come to see him as well as eat! But, the Staff was number 1!
VERY NICE RESTAURANT WITH GREAT FOOD IN DTLA!! I love every single menu here. Every kind of meat is seasoned uniquely and very delicious. Desserts are not to miss. Hibiscus tea is very delicious too. Totally recommend!!
I really like the food it's good quality. I really like how clean and organized the place was and the stuff very cool and if you don't try the food here then you missing out on some good taste. then I realized I know the guy on painted on the wall
