Had a nice brunch with family! The avocado toast was great, as was the falafel wrap. My wife had the spicey quinoa bowl and loved it! The breakfast sandwich was also terrific.
The food is SO GOOD! We had poached eggs with purple potatoes, buckwheat pancakes, and vegan cheesecake and every bite was amazing!!!
Wasn’t crazy about it. I ordered the green eggs with high hopes. Little pesto and I don’t believe I found any avocado on the plate. The sweet potatoes and paleo bread were tasty but my poached eggs were more like hard boiled. Bummer.
We came at 8am when the opened, on a Saturday morning and had no problem getting a table. They have about 8 outdoor tables and are very well spaced - I felt safe eating there. The menu is simple diner food - inlets, pancakes, etc. I got an omelet that was pretty good but maybe nothing to write about home. The bacon was not all cooked and some of it was still pretty limp and gross. Potatoes were fine. Bread was fine. My husband got pancakes that looked pretty good. Prices were good, especially for the city. Breakfast was $40.
Sweet potato quesadilla: Good balance of ingredients. Texture of tortilla was too hard. Portion size felt a bit small - maybe the size of a little breakfast sandwich.Iced Americano: Solid.Service: Very friendly.
If I could, I would give it 3.5I got the breakfast burrito and iced spiced chai latte. The burrito was rather bland and unseasoned, and the spiced chai tasted more like Cinnamon Toast Crunch than spices, however, the cafe is quaint and cute with cozy decor and excellent customer service.Overall, I would not eat here again because it is a bit pricy and under seasoned, but it has a nice atmosphere and the staff are kind.
Really warm in the front patio, they def need more shade. Staff was available and attentive. Soup was just so so while the Purple Egg was def the star of the show.
I finally got to experience a true "Joe's Special Scramble"! I've made this dish b4 for my Georgia family, and on my recent trip to LA, stumbled into this little colorful gem on the early morning of my departure and was thrilled to see it on their menu. The server - nice, quick and attentive - didn't know what I was talking about when I gushed about the origins of the dish and how me, a Southern gal, was so excited to have the real thing, but that's OK. The food was amazing, and I'm so glad that I found Amara Kitchen rather than settling for crummy airport food.
We have eaten here many times over the years since it opened. It would be many more times except that it is pretty much across the planet from us (we live in Malibu). The food is amazingly good. The location is not exactly stunning date night ambience, but that is not what this place is about. It's all about the food! We run a recording studio out in Malibu with the highest of high end clientele. When a client is discerning and has the taste and budget for healthy cuisine we organize for Amara Kitchen to cater to us. ALWAYS gets rave reviews.
Great place with a really nice seating outside. Not a lot of other places nearby and it's in a rather quiet neighborhood (by LA standards). I didn't get the sandwich but my GF said it's damn good. My coffee was great. Nice, chill spot and they had indoor seating as well. We found parking right nearby.
