There isn't a huge menu, but I love that, because what they do have, they are able to excel at. The chicken is always done perfectly, and the sides are great too. Definitely give it a try. You won't be disappointed!!
I ordered the mixed bento it came with everything besides the pickles.. for the money spent at the end 14$. I wouldnt wanna come back even though the quality was decent I guess. I arrived right when the order was ready and when I tried the chicken for sure juicy, but that snap you get from trying a good karaage wasn’t there and again they weren’t busy from what I saw.1. Price doesn’t justify the amount of money spent2. Missing side item3. Save your money and try this place once like me. Never again sorry torisho kinda a let down.
Service was good and friendly. Ordered takeout and it was ready and still hot when we picked it up. This might just be us, but the spice that they talk about using tastes faintly of mold to me. It's probably sage or something, but just didn't sit well on my pallette. I live in Long Beach, so I was looking forward to a place close enough where I could order and still have it piping hot when I get home, but I'm going to have to stick with Tenkatori.
Torisho is The best ever!!! Long beach I don’t think you understand how lucky we are to be the first US torisho location!!!! The people here are always so extremely kind and this food always satisfies my cravings! I really am so happy we have torisho in LB, best Japanese fried chicken in town no competition at all. Please give this place a try asap!

Better than anything else out there.After living in Japan for 5 years in the late 80's I seek out places that remind me of those wonderful days. Well, Torisho is like transporting back in time to a place I used to go to late at night under a bridge near Shinjuku station. The flavor, juiciness and light crisp crust of their Karaage (chicken bites) is just superb. All of the food we ordered was great! ToriNanban, Tonkatsu,.. It was just such a delight. Even the potato salad was a perfect reminder of the delicate flavors Japan is known for. I'm so happy that we found this small corner gem of a shop on Long Beach Blvd, and 7th, to share with my loved ones, that delivers the big UMAMI of true Japan. 全部美味しかった！ご馳走様でした！また是非近いうちに行きます！よろしくお願いします。
JUICY THIIIIIIIGHSMost fried chicken is made with breast. They can be good, but they can never be as good as fried thigh meat! Why choose cardboard when you can have butter?!That’s why Torisho is awesome. You can get fried boneless thighs! Soooo juicy and flavorful, and the breading isn’t too thick.PERF!
Awesome Japanese style fried chicken with amazing Japanese service. Recommend eating your food right there as the chicken loses its crunch rather quickly.
Disappointed, I love and seek out chix restaurants and Love karaage chix. Immediately the smell was off-putting and reluctant to eat it, taste was similarly strange, ate half threw remaining away. Perhaps i had a bad batch or bad oil to cook in. All the good reviews was very excited to try as i was in LB for the day.
This chicken gets me through the week sometimes. We were without a fridge and I was told by my doctor to eat a lot of chicken. It’s fried with starch instead of flour and was a lot easier to eat than most fast food. Tasted great with sauce and without. Their hours do not always reflect Google. I’d call them.
3 stars for the sandwich, which was wonderful-1 star for the worker at the register who barely acknowledged us for our order. I don't expect overly-friendly, I do expect base civility.-1 star for not giving us any sauces with the nuggets and copping an attitude when I came back in to ask about them - and it would be another charge. I now know from others that usually 1 sauce is complimentary - well, it wasn't on Wednesday night...
