This place is great. This was my 3rd time here and each time I've enjoyed it all. I love the variety you have within each dish and the ability to customize it all. As someone who has only been eating vegetarian and vegan foods regularly for 8 months, I love the different ways I can still eat within my restrictions and still feel unrestricted. The food and drinks have all been great.
Disappointed. The passion fruit margarita was good, but small. The tortilla chips were GREAT. The guacamole was mediocre, and the "queso" dip was one of the worst things I have ever seen served at a restaurant - runny and tasteless, and kind of a weird color. The service was OK - nothing great, but not bad. The decor is nice - I liked the wood-look walls. I would have tried something else before passing judgement, but being there had made me hungry, so I went somewhere else for real food that I could count on.
Wide selection of food. I love that everything starts out vegan and you can customize and add things from there to make what you want. The outdoor patio is great and the vibe was very chill. I sat alone and did computer work but could also imagine myself having a nice dinner date here. All the food I tried tasted fresh and flavorful. I also had margaritas, which were delicious. Will definitely be back and would recommend to vegans and non vegans alike.
Normally they have great food but the last time I was there my wife had some issues with her bowlThe manager on duty did a fantastic job of taking care of the problem and made sure that we stay loyal customers. It’s easy to get five stars for a restaurant when everything is great but it’s not so easy to earn five stars when your meal didn’t turn out as planned. Really fresh food and excellent customer service this will be my go to place for healthy options
So we wanted to see what all the fuss was about the Tocaya Modern Mexican Restaurant that opened up in the 2nd & PCH complex of Long Beach 90803. I have now gone back several times. They have delicious food there - extremely tasty. Some of my favorites are the tacos - I go with the chef recommendation, street corn & bowl. They offer great specials on Taco Tuesday. The drinks they have are also very tasty. Clean environment and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
Delicious. Excellent service. Loved the street corn and the guiltless quesadilla.And the margaritas, definitely a go to spot during happy hour.

The employees I interact with, working the night of December 16th, provide really good—solid—customer service. Tocaya Modern Mexican has a nice interior. The Vegan Protein Bowl is decent; the spanish-styled cauliflower rice, the sautéed mushrooms and poblano peppers, the black beans (standout good), the tofu, and the "chicken" (decent, tastes better with the tomatillo salso) are really tasty apart as well as together. Yet, I find I feel a texture is missing, a wrapping of a sort. In a discussion between the supervisor and I, I share that adding a small tortilla wrap can make the meal be more fulfilling, for me. To my surprise, the lime makes the meal taste better, and the water with the lime is wonderful. I like the online payment system, and the reward system seems to be really good. I'm definitely looking to eat at Tocaya Modern Mexican again.
Food is excellent, but pricey. I almost gave it a 4-star due to price, but the food was really good. Definitely worth checking out.
