Merchant’s cinnamon bombs are exceptional. They are perfectly sweetened and fluffy. Bravo ?
The food here is so so good. Ham and cheese and turkey Pavarotti are perfect. Great friendly service. Love to stop by here whenever I'm in the area.
Love this gem of a coffee shop in Long Beach! They roast their own beans, and the lattes are amazing! Homemade baked goods (have to try the zucchini muffin) and friendly staff! Cute, comfortable patio to sit and enjoy your treats. My favorite locally-owned shop!
I love this bakery! I went right when they opened on a Sunday morning and was greeted with the most beautiful display of pastries. I picked a cinnamon roll and everything croissant, which I paired with a London Fog. The tea was on the less sweet side, I would ask for it a little sweeter next time. The pastries were both fantastic but the cinnamon roll was the clear winner. There were a few tables inside and plenty of bench seating outside. The street parking was right out front and plentiful. I went back to buy a baguette to serve with dinner, it was the perfect amount of crunchy outside and soft inside. I'm so excited to go back to The Merchant! The only thing that could have made this trip better is their seasonal strawberry pastry, it wasn't available the morning I went. But despite that I can't recommend this place enough!
Very nice local coffee shop. I love My Flat White and Ham and Cheese croissant!! I am very happy to visit the store this morning. Their ham and cheese croissant made my date. Flat White coffee is good but the best that I have ever had. The vibe of the store is super nice which gives me a Vacation Feel. It reminds me of when I traveled to London. I had a flat white and croissant at a London local store. After trying on their croissants, I decided to buy some homes for my family. They have many pasties that I couldn't try them all this time. I definitely will come back next time when I am surrounding this area.
Good coffee, great pastries, excellent staff. The shop is run by Bixby Knolls locals Mike and Andrea and has a really authentic, friendly neighborhood cafe feel. I love their fresh baked breads and they make the best croissants in town!
1st timer and def. WILL BE RETURNING...its GOOD QUALITY COFFEE and pastries ... WAY BETTER then Starbucks...this is REAL COFFEE
This is such a great place. Everytime I come to town I try and stop by. They have yummy house made bread, cookies and pastry. Plus the coffee and Chai tea are great. The staff and owners are great folks.

The Merchant has some of the best breakfast sandwiches in LB and a great variety of fresh pastries daily. We recently discovered this place after moving back to the area and I regret not trying it sooner. I love the vanilla honey oat latte and I love that I’m able to get a decaf version so I don’t feel left out when the husband orders a caffeinated beverage. Most places only have decaf tea which I drink plenty of at home. They recently just started to roast their own beans and I got a bag for my husband to try. If you haven’t been here yet, check them out. It’s a great local spot.
