Also referred to as "Dean's Pizza", this is one of LB's more secretly valued spots, which is a shame because more business means better growth opportunity. I highly recommend any of the curry sauce pizzas, but not so much anything else. Still, it is well worth it if you like variety in your life. They can get pretty busy around 7ish for the dinner rush, so be patient as they work quick but have a relatively small staff. Calling ahead or ordering off an app is recommended. I use Slice.Delivery is an option, but they only do so within a distance. If you are picking up, be aware that the parking lot is very small and tight quartered. You may be better off with street parking and taking a short walk, lest you get boxed in by some desperate person trying to pick up dinner for their family who parked in a weird way. There are tables to dine-in at, but I can't say that I've seen many people do so. The interior decor needs an update, but with everything going on in the world that's a rather low priority.
The signature pizza, Thai Curry Tofu, is one of the best damn pizzas in Long Beach & I would argue in SoCal.I don’t know what else to say. Once you try it, the pizza speaks for itself.
My wife drove past this place a while ago and described it to me and it sounded crazy. I LOVE Thai food and curry, and naturally I love pizza, but together? Still, the next time she had to go to Long Beach, I agreed to tack along on the 40-minute drive just to try this, even though it meant me spending 90 minutes in a coffee shop waiting for her before another such drive back. I give you this back story as perspective on what I endured to try this restaurant. The simple result? I will absolutely, without question, repeat all of these steps again because this was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I'm not talking best weird fusion pizzas. I'm talking best pizzas period. The overall flavor profile of the Thai Curry Chicken Pizza worked in a way I could never have expected. Ingredients were top notch, cheese was perfect, and the crust is some of the best I've ever had. None was wasted, with cheese baked onto the edge, and a flawless texture and bite.My wife has their tempura fried shrimp, and while at first she was disappointed that it was clearly breaded and not tempura, this was quickly replaced by amazement at the flavor and texture. I tried it and it instantly ranked as highly as the pizza for its category.I will return. You should join me.
A little confusing with multiple signs saying Thai Curry Pizza and Dean's but you'll figure it out.Came for the tom yum pizza. I've been lagging to drive here for over two years. Damn I was missing out. I ordered a small and ate all but three slices. Then got in the car and ate another.I think this is the best fusion pizza I've ever had. I am definitely coming back. I'm curious to try the other stuff as well.
I love this place and area also. the pizza was incredible delicious and service was very fast.
This is a true long beach gem! If you're here visiting stop by! Hidden in the hustle and bustle of the city. Come in, shut up, and get the tom yam chicken pizza, and a side of fried tofu with this special dipping sauce and thank me later. It's super unique, creative and full of intense flavors,
I was completely surprised by this place honestly I only came here for the specialty pizzas which were Tom young pizza and Thai curry Pizza. Unfortunately I only got to try the tie pizza and it was absolutely delicious I would recommend that anybody who orders this pizza get extra sauce on the side for dipping. The breading of the pizza was amazing this is definitely nothing like I've ever tasted before.
I lived in LB for 7 years and this was our go to pizza spot. The Tom Yum and Thai Curry Pizzas are worth coming back for again and again even if I don't live nearby any longer. Love you Dean's!
Man this is a hidden gem. Old school mom and pop place that doesn't put much effort into the aesthetics (maybe COVID related), but the Tom Yum and Thai Curry Pizza are incredible. Exactly the flavors you'd expect but balanced well in a pizza. To my delight, the pizza itself, crust in all, is also very good! Surprised no one has copied them yet.
Thai curry pizza is so LA I'm not sure if there's anything else like it.. anyway, the tom yam chicken and curry chicken pizzas are where it's at.
