Mid-Mexican food. Jarred pico de gallo, pre-made guacamole, salty black beans, unseasoned mole, cold fajitas. People obviously come here for cocktails and the view. My entire party's food was served cold. Staff was nice but kinda young and indifferent, they seem understaffed. I did't like how they made us leave our baby stroller outside like it's a Disneyland ride. Men's room was dirty and dark.I'm not sure why I keep coming here, this place is too expense to be this mediocre.
We love Ola Mexican kitchen - consistently delicious!! Great service as well:-)
Great food and great view of the Marina!
Tacos are always good. They have a monthly one that is always good. Loud and crowded outside during the weekend.
My wife, sister and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this restaurant at the PCH & 2nd development with a beautiful view of Long Beach Marina. We got there a little before they opened but as soon at 1130 am occurred we were welcomed and escorted to the outside covered patio with an unobstructed view. I ordered the Traditional Rock Fish ceviche for the table of 3 which was very good and more than we could eat. Our waiter also brought some homemade chips and salsa which were also tasty. For entrees, we all decided on taco plates. Both ladies opted for 2 Baja fish tacos, and I decided on the 3 taco plate with 2 grilled salmon tacos and one Baja. Everyone enjoyed the Baja tacos including me.However, I loved the grilled salmon tacos which in my opinion were outstanding, and when I return will order the salmon again. Highly recommend you give this place a try if you haven’t already.
Recently enjoyed a very good business luncheon at Ola Mexican Kitchen. Great service and attention to detail. Overall the food was pretty good, not great as the enchilada shells were a bit too crispy (on the raw side) for my liking and you pay a premium for the location.
After many years of wanting to try Ola, I finally made it out. I knew the prices would be a bit higher than most Mexican restaurants but I can confidently say it’s worth the price. The margaritas are small but pack a lot of flavor. I ordered the rib eye steak fajitas and the Acapulco Ceviche and the clear winner today was the fajitas. Id give it a 11/10 I’m not exaggerating. The ceviche was ok, I had to pour the salsa from the chips to add flavor. I would recommend this place for a date night.
Went here with the mom group to celebrate a birthday. Got a great table on the patio before sunset. Great views, great vibes. No wait at 6pm on Thursday night.Of course we all order a round of yummy cocktails. I got the Punta Negra cocktail. I slurped it down pretty fast since it had so much ice so I decided I needed to switch to beer the rest of the night. We all ordered various tacos off their a la cart taco menu. I have had their Baja fish tacos before so I ordered 2 of them. The other girls mixed their taco plates to try more variety. They were all yummy and very filling. No rice & beans needed after you eat chips, salsa and guacamole.Since it was a birthday celebration we ordered the cherry dessert. Holy yum! It’s huge and perfect for the four of us.Definitely a great location, great atmosphere, food and service. If you want to work of your dinner, they opened a roller rink below.
Great view of the Marina from patio seating, busy but not over booked so we walked right in and were seated right away. Ten min wait at a sticky table top w/out water or waitress to come offer us drinks or present the menus'. Chips were cold, thick and hard and the watery salsa tasted like Jar Supermarket Generic brand. We ordered Shrimp Ceviche appetizer, (3) chicken tacos on " We use only fresh, handmade tortillas for our tacos!" except the taco tortillas were cold and broke when folded so I can only assume that they were "FRESHLY MADE" LAST WEEK and the Thousand Island sauce inside was watery and yet still couldn't soften the taco tortilla. I ordered the CHILES RELLENO w/ with pico cocido salsa. I've never had Chiles Relleno w/ the salsa on the bottom and top dry except for 3 slices of radish? The Blood orange Mezcal Margarita was tasty but the Sour Mix was so acidic I suffered heartburn all night, my companion enjoyed 2 Cadillac Margaritas but the Cointreau never made an appearance, our waitress told us they pour it in at the bar? A friendly fellow cam to our table as we were finishing dinner and asked if everything was ok? No introduction, no name tag or Logo shirt. I asked who he was and he only then introduced himself smiling. After I shared our tortilla experience he apologised and walked away??? We'd come to expect this type of dining experience down the street on 2'nd street bar food greasy spoons and though we'd treat ourselves to a bit more upscale dinner here. MISTAKE. I'll save the $140.00 and stay away from Ola Mexican Kitchen. Hasta luego cocodrilo!!!
I had the carnitas platter with a side of rice and beans along with the jalapeño margarita without the jalapeño. The carnitas were juicy and not dry just perfect. Although they were busy the food came out in a timely manner and our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable on all the questions we had. The restroom was very clean and so was the baby changing station which was a plus!
