I’ve never had bad indian food, until now. Everything was bland, even the veggie fried rice was gross, how do you mess that up? They give you half portions that you pay full price for, even the 1 oz sauce cups were only filled halfway. They gave us the wrong menu item, was supposed to be veggie and was meat and also left out a menu item completely. Terrible experience, don’t put yourself through the disappointment.
Great food, hugh variety, friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor seating. Reasonable priced.
Food not so great.. especially there is a long wait time to get anything, even to take your order as there was only one person to cover all tables. You might not get what you order or might get incorrectly too.. I ordered without spice but the one delivered was too spicy. Then he said he forgot and replaced a new one for me without spice which was added deals. Overall I did not have a good experience..
I used to love this place. Should’ve left before placing my to go order. Had a feeling when I didn’t see the owners I’ve come to know for the last 12 years and the big neon lights on the outside. This place used to be so good. But now new owners. First the decor is all Bollywooded out with a zillion tv screens and neon lights showing the same Bollywood singing and dancing show at the same timeBut the worst part is the food was absolutely the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. I ordered yellow daal and garlic naan. The yellow daal and rice were so salty it was nearly un edible. And the garlic naan was so greasy it shined from the grease.I was so hungry
Amazing food. Mutton biryani was great. It was well cooked and tasted yummy. Great and very friendly service. Must try this place if you are looking for Indian food in Long Beach.
Had an amazing lunch today from Natraj Cuisine of India in Long Beach. We ordered pickup today and nothing disappointed. We had the Dahl, veggie samosas, Chana masala, Gobi Mattar, and lots of Roti! More than enough for leftovers, which I’m very much looking forward to! Plus, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to going back!
Our server was really friendly and provided amazing service. However, the restaurant serves fairly small portions and charges full price for those. I ordered malai kofta; the koftas were excessively chewy, hard, and tasted stale.
It's back!!! Woo! Hoo!Now listen dining people to what I say!!! Natraj is back with their cool buffet!!! All you can eat, so pig on out!!! Oinking and feasting is what it's all about!!! You come in square but you leave all round, cause you had a good time putting it all down!!! ??!!!BUUUUURRRP!!!
I ordered from doordash but nothing came. Poor dasher finds out that restaurant is under construction. Waited for 1.5 hours for food. Should have informed doordash about construction before closing shop.
Natraj is one of few restaurants you will find on 2nd street that has withstood the test of time. This was the first place I tried Indian food in 2003/2004... and I keep coming back because, well, the food is amazing, the prices are generous for the quality you receive, the weekend lunch buffet/champagne brunch Sundays are such a fantastic value and Bubbly and Mr. Singh are sooo sweet and attentive!! You'll feel welcomed from the first to the last bite!Bonus, it always feels good to know I'm spending money at local, family run, quality establishments like Natraj!!Keep an eye on 2nd street.. you'll see restaurants with high prices (to account for the crazy rent landlords on 2nd street charge) pop up and disappear like a revolving door cuz they don't have what it takes to keep customers coming back again and again.Natraj on the other hand, knows how to do it right!!!Natraj has been there since either the 80s or 90s, and once you eat here, you'll see why they're a 2nd street gem!I recommend the garlic naan and the buffet... especially if you're new to Indian food. You'll get a taste of the most popular dishes at a mild spice level. If you're more of a spice lover or are feeling adventurous, come in and order off the menu and have the spice level tailored to your taste buds.Highly recommend the lamb curry medium- spicy level (it is mouth watering you guys!!!!!) , or for first timers, visit on a Sunday when mild lamb curry is served. I love the spinach saag (I always get 2 servings of this dish... it is so so amazing to dip that light crispy garlic naan into this spinach deliciousness ?), tandoori and butter chicken are amaaazing, samosas are crispy and filled with a delicately spiced potato mixture and they have really tasty vegetarian options as well (they are DELICIOUS choices even if you're a meat eater, so I know vegetarians will love this joint!!)
