Found this place one evening and was super excited as it looked like a genuine authentic Italian Restaurant....totally wrong I had the lasagne and let me just tell you this, it was awful, it was like the cheapest shop bought lasagne, heated up in a microwave. It came with a garlic bread that was a cheap white roll with a lick of garlic butter on it. Come on guys, how hard is it to just bake some home made ciabatta or even heaven forbid make your own lasagne. Really disappointing and actually a little annoying, but most of all very scary that Americans actually eat this stuff and think it is good food. This is not authentic Italian food.

Prices aren't bad food is decent also dog friendly.
Walking along the street, Modica's is right on the corner. It was very convenient to the Westin, where I was staying. The menu is lengthy and offers some daily specials. I enjoyed a sandwich and soup, and then returned for a second sandwich. The bread was fresh and flavorful. If your looking for a snack or a light meal, this is the place.
Modica's Deli located in the downtown community of Long Beach is a great find. We recently went by and were pleasantly surprised with a great deal on a lunch special. I proceeded to order it and it was yummy. There were other individuals enjoying a meatball sandwich. The portions are plentiful. Bring your appetite.

Modicas has been my favorite place to go and have lunch and dinner at for more than 10 years! When i was living down on Linden(12) years i would go to modicas just about daily!! From the subs to pasta dinner meals and their desserts!! You cant go wrong!! The staff and owner there are great people as well!! Id recommend this place to any and everyone looking for Great food, huge portions without breaking the bank at all very reasonable prices but it doesn't take away from the quality of the food at all!! If your ever down near ocean id say stop in and get yourself some food that ur taste buds will thank you for later!!
Good! I had the French dip and it was decent and a nice sized portion (I got extra meat and extra cheese for fun) wish it was more flavorful but I’m not at all mad.

Yummy for sandwiches or dinner fare. Nice atmosphere outside and good service as well! Also, for my fellow carbaholics, they give you so much bread :D
