Had a Birthday party for my partner at the Mine Shaft tonight. Was beyond smooth! Had a really great time! The staff was so very accommodating! Blonde woman bartender made it clear she was friends with the group that verbally assaulted me. Asked my name and I didn't feel comfortable sharing it, but she pushed. I no longer feel safe going to this bar anymore and will not be giving them my money/tips ever again. Read the room and realize your friends were in the wrong and the customer right in front of you was upset and in the right. She even admitted that the party she was semi defending had had a history of outbursts and violence. All she was focused on was "getting on the other side of the bar" after her shift. Priorities seemed misplaced. Go to Falcon or Sweetwater or f* it, the Brit unless it's late at night and there's no chance she's there. Good luck and be safe
My favorite place to meet, greet, and mingle. I rarely ended up going home alone at the end of the night! Great place to unwind and be yourself. They hookup up strong drinks at low prices! Come out and play!
I’ve passed through a few times now but every time I have come Douglas, the bartender, has served me drinks and every time without a doubt has made me feel so special. The last 2 times I have come here, honestly to grab a drink and go to the next bar, Douglas has literally made my whole day my asking me how I was doing simply because he remembered my face. If it wasn’t for Douglas, I probably would have not stopped by for a drink… or even stayed to dance to Whitney Houston’s “Dance with somebody”
Friendly staff. The patrons are very sociable. LGBT friendly.
I do not recommend this bar. It's really a locals bar or just a place to meet someone for a drink together.It can be a tourist trap.No one is single or there alone type of bar.The chances of you being invited home with someone or making an actual friend are pretty nill.I lived in the immediate vacinity of and went to this bar for several years and sadly it was all a disappointing waste of time.I never felt any warmth at the Mineshaft ever. It can be extremely boring.The parking can be horrible around this bar.I recommend going somewhere more fun with a dance floor.There are plenty of other bars that are much better prospects than this bar.
November 2020: Mineshaft is now open for outside seating 11am to 12am daily. Food is now served from a local eatery along with cocktails and beer. Hours may vary depending on holiday and weather. Please call for more infomation.
Staff should be more polite when asking patrons to leave. Actually communicate when last call is, don't wait until last minute to yell at customers to leave.
This was my first gay bar experience and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Being surrounded by so many humans who share an unspoken bond was a memory I want to hold on to forever! This bar in particular was my favorite of the bunch. There are so many bars on this strip and I circled back for more because I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and service.
