Service was fantastic. 5 stars in regards to that.As for the food, I just wasn't impressed. The portions are rather small for the price. I got the steak and potatoes, and the steak was dry, both potatoes and steak were cold when served to me. I added a half lobster tail and that was really good. I had the salad with the red wine vineggrette and I just wish there was more to it.Overall it was a nice night out but I was certainly not impressed by the food. Wouldn't do it again.
Ordered a few pizzas.. and was looking forward to it.. after all this place received the Zaggat recognition of best pizza in the country back in 2013... Well... out of 3 pizza, one was edible, the rest not so much.. dough as hard as cardboard. Overloaded... the over one we ate because we were starving. Do mess up pizza that bad one simple does not care. What a shame. Read the reviews.. many echo what I am saying. Clearly the place has gone downhill and quality and craft is no longer a focus. To avoid at all cost!!!
How is the food? I wouldn't know...my wife and I were treated so poorly and disrespected by the staff that we had to leave. Back story, due to underlying health conditions, we wanted to exercise caution in where we dined. Hearing that Michael's had rooftop outdoor dining, we were excited to try and made an early reservation for rooftop dining. We arrived early and confirmed our reservation/location. On the flight up the stairs, the hostess wanted to make sure that we knew there was a 2 hour limit which seemed odd at the time. When we got to the second level, she proceed to seat us at an interior table, right in the middle of the room and foot traffic, not outdoors. When we looked at the outdoor patio area, all the tables were open and available except one. Given there was hardly anyone there, we asked if we could move to one of the small outdoor tables. The hostess went downstairs and after while, came back and said there were no tables available despite it being wide open (and our reservation was in fact for an outdoor table). She then offered us our original interior table in the middle of the room or seats at the bar. Trying to be accommodating, we took the bar seats but were instructed to sit at far left side of the bar. The bartender warmly greeted us and then said that I hope you are not planning to stay long as I need those seats (the ones that the hostess said we needed to sit in) 30 minutes from now as he had people coming who reserved those seats. So from having a rooftop reservation and denied an outdoor table despite plenty of open tables, and then relocation to the bar only to be told that we now had 30 minutes to order and eat dinner, this was a last straw so we left. We are very accommodating people, dress appropriately, tip well, but I cannot recall being treated in such a disrespected way at a restaurant. Was it due to us being a mixed race couple? Or for coming into the place initially wearing masks? I don't know, but having lived in California almost 60 years, third generation born and raised in the LA area, I can't recall in recent memory being treated this badly like a second class citizen....Michael's on Naples, I expected better.
Can't get enough of this spot. Whether you want a casual cocktail on the rooftop, a romantic anniversary dinner or the best damn lasagna because you deserve it, Michael's, hits the spot. Always nice to get greeted by the lovely GM, Massimo. ?
Phenomenal octopus and service. I highly recommend coming back here and plan to do so myself for the tasting menu. Salad selection was well done albeit a scooch lacking. Gnocchi was phenomenal
Fantastic food and wine paired beautifully with attentive and friendly service. The giant ravioli special was nothing short of amazing. It featured an interesting combination of cheese and egg inside, along with wild black trumpet mushrooms. The Spigola - pan seared white sea bass over venere rice was both visually and flavorfully stunning. What an incredible meal!
Went there for dinner this evening and was disappointed by many things. The only aspect of the restaurant I have no complaints about is our server Bleue, who was amazing but just extremely busy taking care of so many tables.Noise on the second floor:The outdoor rooftop that I had specifically reserved because of COVID concerns was not actually a rooftop but rather the second floor of the restaurant where the bar was, so still indoors. There was in fact an outdoor area that was connected to this second floor, which makes me believe that somehow we did not get the seating that we reserved for. This second floor was absolutely terrible because it was impossible to hear anything over the loud music and rowdy people at the bar. It's NFL night, I get it. However, I feel like the dining place should have been a lot quieter than it was. They played such loud music and everyone was basically shouting to be heard. Coming down from the second floor after we were done, we saw that the first floor was basically empty and so much quieter. Maybe it would have been better if we had chosen to dine indoors in the first place.Food and price:We had the chef's tasting menu that cost 85 dollars per person without wine pairing. Even before we ordered anything our server let us know that they had a small kitchen today and that food may be delayed. We decided to go with it, not knowing that for six dishes, it would take us over 2.5 hours to finish, most of that time being us just waiting for our food. Honestly the food I think was overpriced, based on how much we had to wait for the food just to get lukewarm pasta and steak. For the caviar pasta I could not really taste the caviar. The antelope loin(?) was cold when we got it, and I personally don't see how the "salsify" added anything to the dish. The cocktails were great though!Overall:I was really disappointed at today's experience because many reviews on Google said that this was a great place. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to dine and actually be able to have an audible conversation with your party. And just fyi, they do not check for vaccine proof--do what you will with this information.
Charming, warm restaurant with excellent food. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about wines and passionate about the menu. Everything we ordered was amazing. The winner though was the lasagna. Three different desserts- all were great. If you’re in the neighborhood, this is the place to eat.
Fabulous rooftop dinner. They are able to adjust top and temperature for the current conditions. Waitstaff were warm and engaging and helpful with food and wine pairings. Servings were large so we split our starter, primo, and secondi to save room for dolce. Parparedelle with mushrooms and branzino were carefully prepared. Wish this was in our neighborhood!
Food was delicious, atmosphere was inviting and staff was insanely friendly. Drinks were so good too! I would certainly suggest to try it out.
