Have been wanting to try Louisiana Charlie’s for a while now, it seems like I always choose to go when it is closed. Fortunately I got a chance to try it the other day.When arriving the only available table was in the sun, so I grabbed it, the hostess explained that I had to order online and pay with CC. This process was a huge pain but I go through it. At first I thought it was because of Covid but I’m still not sure. Strange because they have someone bring you drinks and the food so why not take your order as well.With all that the food is delicious, the gumbo is amazing and tasted authentic. Prices are on the higher side but the quality and portion size were worth it for me. The next time I go hopefully they will have servers and I’ll wait for a table on the dock side for a better experience.
My boyfriend and I had a really fun time going to Louisiana Charlie's for my mom's Mother's Day lunch. The food was super tasty he really liked the alligator. I really like the shrimp etouffee and then we all had some po' boys that were really generous in the amount of seafood that they came with. I would happily go again the only thing that I was not perfectly happy with was that nobody is roving around refilling waters because you have to order everything through their little app but it comes quick enough.
Ok here it goes. I went here by accident because the place I was going to visit was closed. When I arrived here I was sat at a table and told to scan a QR code and order on my phone. No one came to my table to ask me if I needed anything or tell me about the items were on the menu. The descriptions on the menu were not detailed either so I had to guess what I thought would be good to try on the menu. I ordered the barbecue ribs with Cajun corn and Mac and cheese. After placing my order and btw you can tip the waiter who never comes to take your order ?!There is a server who delivers your food to your table. I will give her credit that she was nice and did bring me some water upon request. I might add that I would have probably ordered a drink had someone came and offered suggestions.Ok my review of the food. They serve really good size portions of ribs. The ribs were meaty and the meat falls off the bones. I really enjoyed the sweet tangy sauce. My only thing was that I didn’t really taste a smoke flavor on the ribs which from my understanding they were smoked. B+ on the ribs.The mac and cheese was a little runny and did not have that cheesy flavor that I like. This is a more personal opinion as I know some people enjoy runny Mac and cheese. I give it a C.I had no ideal what the Cajun corn would taste like since no one was there to tell me but I really enjoyed the spicyness of the seasoning and butter. A for the corn!!!Overall this place has good food, but I give it 3 stars for the lack of service that had me guessing what to order. I think this place could receive a higher rating if they offer more service to their customers. I had a feeling of not being welcomed and felt like I was a stranger in a distant land….
Happened to be in the area for a work conference and decided to look up local Cajun restaurants. As an Arkansan currently living in Toronto, I have been severely lacking my daily dose of Cajun goodness.Was so excited to find this restaurant and enjoyed it so much I ate there TWICE during my visit. All staff are incredibly nice and welcoming, food is delicious with great sized portions, and the location is great.Only small hiccup I had was with ordering. The restaurant is not currently at full service which means you order through an app only. My Canadian bank card did not work with the app (since we use postal codes instead of zip codes). It took me a long time to find someone to assist since no one is coming by the tables regularly. But, when I did find someone, I was helped quickly which I appreciated.Will definitely come back should I return to the Long Beach area!
Yes yes yes! If you want some good catfish with cornmeal (not the beer batter) then this is the place to be in Long Beach, not to mention it's by the beach! The drink I had was pretty strong, I can't remember the name of it but look at it in my pics and you'll figure it out, a strawberry drink! Don't forget to get the bikes carts next door to ride by the beach! They have 2 seaters to 6 seaters.
I wanted to give higher but the value isn't great. Got the crab hot box. That particular item didn't feel like a good value, the crab was fine, but not amazing. Looking around I would probably have gotten the gumbo fries or the jambalaya. The service was really not great. Host forgot about us. The meal tastes well enough, just not the value for the price taste wise I was expecting.
The food was great! Service was wonderful. This was our first time but plan to go back.

Looked up seafood on google and this place popped. I like Cajun and I like bbq. When we got here I couldn’t make up my mind so I ordered 2 meals. The Cajun shrimp meal, and the baby back ribs meal. Came with 2 sides each. I ordered the mac and cheese, candied yams, baked beans, and corn bread. We also ordered the pecan sweet potato pie, and peach cobbler ala mode. Every single thing we ordered was a 10/10!! Very rare to have everything ordered be so good. The ambiance is awesome and the food is amazing! Well done!!!
