Best italian fare I’ve had in recent memory. Pasta is made in house, I had the Tagliatelle and my eyes lit up. There’s not much else to say, service was good, ambiance is very vibey with a cool street view of broadway and palm trees. You can tell the chefs know exactly what they’re doing. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
Fabulous hidden gem. Lovely staff and AMAZING CHEF. Service was good but our waiter forgot to put in our desert order mid meal. It takes 20 min to make and so we opted out. It was a disappointment. Otherwise great food. I had the lasagna which us enough for at least 2 people to share. We also ordered the loin of lamb and another pasta dish which was a bit salty. Order the bread board! It is extraordinary. Caviar butter, pork butter and an assortment of snax and delicacies. Definitely a five star expirience but the missed desert forced 4 stars. Will I return? Absolutely.
Minus 1 star-⭐️ for ignoring me. It took awhile before anyone acknowledge me. Finally a server came by and asked me if anybody had taken my order & apologized. His kindnesses and attentive attitude made my experience great (I think his name is Tim). Thank you Tim for acknowledging me.I love the unique flavors. Delicious food.* warning * finding parking is a major problem *
The food was okay, definitely definitely overpriced! Also overrated, great wine selection though. The Farfalla was extremely salty, almost sent it back. Great service, low key disappointed, with the food. Smaller portions too
Not only were all of the staff members who helped our party (hostess and 3 waiters) incredibly kind and friendly, but the food was just phenomenal. The burrata appetizer is delicious, and the agnolotti was superb. I will DEFINITELY be back and will suggest this place to friends.
Why in the world would anyone start a restaurant review with praise for the management? It’s always overlooked, but deceptively simple. It’s because the experience you enjoy has so many components that are carefully orchestrated by individuals that are committed to ensuring that the myriad of intertwined actions in the kitchen will be articulated properly into a one of a kind insoluble memory. Molly, like Evelyn before her, takes her stewardship seriously, and to the uninitiated, effortlessly performs this delicious alchemy night after night, after night. The entire staff is always engaging, knowledgeable and congenial. Tucked away among the crisscrossing series of one way streets in an unpretentious neighborhood in Long Beach is a gem. The offerings are innovative, but don’t suffer the trend to unify anything and everything. The palette is well grounded and the embellishments contribute to the whole in the subtlest ways. I urge you to come see for yourself.
Really amazing food here! The tagliatelle was poppin'!!! The lasagna was good but I was reckless eyeballing my lady's tagliatelle!
Gingers (the chefs special table) is good, but probably not worth the value. Gingers is the side room of Ellie’s that has a tasting menu. I went with friends and the value of the service and experience was sub par for the price compared to similar dining experiences. The main issue is that 4 people are expected to split each course family style, which can prove awkward for couples. While the vibes in Gingers were nice, I don’t think it’s worth the price tag. That all said, I’ve been to Ellie’s before and it’s amazing, would recommend!
The barrata with bread was very tasty and the grilled whole fish was fantastic! The farfalle with the duck confit was a bit too salty and the pasta was undercooked. Maybe it was an off day on the pasta.
When I crave Italian, which hardly happens, this is my go to. I've tried many Italian spots in Long Beach , but Ellie's takes the icing on the cake .You honestly cannot go wrong with any items on here. Very vegetarian friendly as well. The entrees may look small, especially when ordering on an empty stomach, but I always leave extra satisfied. The pasta are all homemade and the sauces are what makes this spot unique. The ingredients are not those of your typical pasta dish, which is like a flavor explosion with each bite .The wines here are delicious as well.Parking is near impossible as you are in a middle of a neighborhood.
