They have the literal BEST ceviche I have ever had. Don't let the area of the restaurant keep you from coming. The girls that take your order are really friendly and are very polite. Check this place out you won't be disappointed ?
Not sure why this spot has so many reviews and a high rating. Maybe we're just unlucky. The girl helping us was pretty indifferent. They don't take card, only zelle or cash even though they have a card terminal. Worst of it is we got two shrimp ceviches with whole raw shrimps so can't even eat it right away.
I was craving mariscos and found this place close to work stopped in after work only to be greeted by 2 rather unfriendly women. The prices seemed a little steep ($15 per order of ceviche) but when I asked about portion sizes they showed me a decent sized container so I figured I'd roll the dice. After maybe about 15 minutes they brought my order out and to my disappointment the container was only half way filled. To top it off the shrimp that was put in my ceviche was not at all cooked. Almost 100% raw, there's only little bits that have been cooked and you can see they weren't even deveined. Now I'm sitting here STILL hungry and having to figure out food because if I eat this I will get food poisoning. I do not recommend this place, take the extra drive and find a better spot where you'll get your monies worth.
1st and last time here. Wait to be seated was about an hour, there was hardly anyone there eating. We ordered our food and waited more than an hour for 2 plates out of about 13 to come out. Food is expensive for what's given. Mojarra frita doesn't come with tortillas, you have to place an extra order for them. Other restaurants include it with the plate. Customer service was horrible. When we asked how long it would take to receive the rest of our order, after already waiting more than an hour, the curly haired waitress said it was going to be much longer since the cook forgot to cook a side of rice which in no way was our problem. We ended up asking for our receipt of whatever we had brought to us in the 2+ hours we were there (only drinks and 2 plates). They even had the audacity to charge us a tip as well, tip is based on customer service, which for us was horrible. We ended up paying to avoid any more interaction with waitress.
Large variety of predominantly shrimp plates. Prices are pretty reasonable but bring cash as sign at counter says cash only. Everything that I've tried has been outstanding but if you order some of the shrimp ceviche plates know that some of them have the shrimp raw. If you don't like your shrimp or fish raw be sure to let the staff know as they are usually able to accommodate by having it cooked. Be aware that there are only a few spots for parking so make plans accordingly.
Great place you don't think it's good everybody goes is the best of the best thing that can people that I think and also it's up there it's up there with one of the ones you know really are good so come on down people
This is my favorite seafood ever. The langostinos or camarones in salsa langostino are amazing.
This place is truly a diamond in the rough. The whole-fish sarandeado is worth the trip.
Ok so I don't usually review anything. BUT this is a must. You walk in and its small indoors but they have large round table outdoor seating under canopies. We got lucky and found parking right up front (its off the main street), not sure if they have parking in the back. Katie was our server. She is very friendly, bilingual and followed up reasonably. I ordered the shrimp ceviche. Initially wondered why it was $13+. But let me tell you....DELICIOUS and well portioned. The shrimp cooked to perfection!! Sometimes you'll find ceviche where they will over-compensate with the chopped cucumber and tomato to make the portions bigger. Not here. A perfect balance. I didn't have to add any lime. DELICIOUS in its own juices. I'm a tapatio guy so thats all I had to add. The only downside is that it doesn't come with avocado and we had to order it on the side, but the side was a huge half-cut portion which was more than sufficient. Ok, so the shrimp wasn't cut and chopped up, it's FULL and, again WELL portioned pieces of cooked shrimp, which I know some people don't like, but I felt I could see where my money went and didn't feel cheated out of shrimp. PLENTY of shrimp. They didn't give me tostadas but are generous with the tortilla chips. Washed it all down with a Modelo Negra. They also have a nice variety of bottled beers and also have cork fees which means you can bring your own bottle and I'm assuming also beer(s). This just might be....the BEST ceviche I have ever had!! And that is a HUGE statement/deal for me. Like, huge. So I had to drop this review. I am from Acapulco so I know mariscos. Drop by you won't regret it. 5 stars.
Birthday boy had El Rey Ceviche and Shrimp Borracho. Sooooo good.
