This place is just a couple of blocks N of Ocean blvd. It’s cafeteria style so you order at the counter. They expect you to bus your own tables. No sushi but they have a nice assortment of udon noodle dishes and ramen. I had the nabayake udon with fresh veggies, tofu and boiled egg. Very tasty. They have Japanese beer and soft drinks.
I fell in love with Japanese food when I was stationed there in the Navy. This place is excellent. Very authentic the staff is friendly the prices are very reasonable and just being in there takes me back to simpler and better times when I was a very young man. If you haven't visited this location trust me take the time stop in have some lunch and experience what authentic Japanese food is all about. Definitely five stars

Best ramen I’ve tried so far. I spent a wonderful lunch with my parents here in a family vacation and the owner was very sweet and the outdoor seating great. Food came out quickly and was 10/10. Will come back whenever I’m in LB again. ?

Absolutely loved Donburi. I make Tonkatsu and Chicken Katsu at home, so I wanted to see how the authentic Katsu would taste. Totally blew mine out of the water. My wife loves ramen and she said this was the best ramen she had ever eaten. If I lived in California, I'd come back here day after day. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Just seeing her made me smile. :)
The Sauce Katsu Don was excellent! As was the Gyoza.
