It's your typical Chinese restaurant. However, I was not to impressed with the food here I got the Chen Fried rice which is basically a combo fried rice. The rice was very oily and I could tell that they skimped on the protein inside. Didn't finish my rice because of how greasy it was nor was I happy with the lack of protein inside mostly pure rice. I don't think I'll eat here again.
This is good chinese food. Located on Broadway. Parking available in lot. Family friendly location. Yummy tasty food. The service is friendly and the food was ready quickly. Special thank you to our hostess Crystal.. She is accommodating and helpful throughout the dining experience. We had a group of about 13 people. Everyone had a nice evening. Food is served for group eating. Great place for friends and family.Thank you.
Orange chicken was perfect, not too sweet or overly breaded and chicken was cut well. Really just came for the wonton soup I’ve been craving all week and it definitely hit the spot.
Very pleased! Delightful Gourmet Won Ton soup for two. We shared the Chef Special Fried Noodle dish. The drink prices are the lowest anywhere!
We’ve eaten here a few times, I’ve had the dining in experience here way before Covid and always delicious authentic all of the above flavors a bunch of spicy flavors for me yes…that’s the way I enjoy my Chinese food with all that ginger, garlic, saucy salty and bitter experience that takes your taste buds to that place where you just want to stay a bit longer and continue enjoying your delicious food! So if you’re in this side of Long Beach on Broadway give Chens a try check out their menu order ahead everything is made to order so worth it and portions are pretty large size to share or enjoy later. They do offer indoor dining following all the Covid guidelines…hope that when you’re in the craving for authentic Chinese food you give them a try you definitely will not be disappointed! The owners are wonderful and very kind…
Dining at Chens is always a special experience! Friendly service, a warmly formal yet relaxing ambiance, along with delicious colorful fresh cuisine from a wide selection of menu choices. Finally, the food is served in large, generous portions, so a customer will never walk out hungry. Five stars for Chens... Long Beach's best kept secret!
One morning in early November, I remember waking up craving Chinese food. On my way home, I actually decide on eating at a pizza establishment I've yet to try. I lock up my bicycle, then change my mind about the pizza noticing Chen's Chinese Restaurant across the street. I request a surprise Vegan order and, if I recall correctly (if not, pictures are available to match to the correct menu item), I receive the Kung Pao Bean Curd—which IS very tasty particularly due to the sauces (especially the Brown Sauce of which I ask about which the employee notes as a restaurant secret). YET, after learning from another restaurant about frying Tofu, a couple to a few days later, and doing personal research about the Brown Sauce, I realize the Brown Sauce may not be Vegan (depending on the broth) and may have a little bit of alcohol in it (I don't drink alcoholic beverages, I'm sober by choice); if Tofu is set in a fryer that fries animal products, animal byproducts may enter the Tofu which might indicate contamination hence the reason the other restaurant steams Tofu for individuals seeking Vegan options. All of this information is apparent to me after personal research, and after requesting about Vegan options at another restaurant. My overall experience at Chen's Chinese Restaurant is great. This is all new information for me that I hope may be helpful for the restaurant toward ensuring the comfort of individuals seeking Vegan options. There are Vegan Sauce recipes (for sauces I'm familiar consuming with food from Chinese restaurants).
Don’t ever place an order from this place it’s the worse China food you will ever tasted and price is outrageous save your money and don’t order from here idk why they have a such a high rating but it’s fake and the food is just tasteless no shrimp in my “shrimp fried rice” and the soup just taste like water
