I'm already insanely bummed about the vegan sushi, I have been craving the tempura roll so hard with their vegan eel sauce, the rolls are ok but just really tofu heavy, and fairly plain, the lady was nice It just not what I have been craving litrally flew in from TN today and have been waiting to go here. Should have read the reviews
Like another review said, this place used to be the best spot for really delicious vegan sushi. I understand that there is new management, but either way the food was super disappointing especially for the price. I don’t expect places to cater to vegans but even a regular avocado roll from somewhere where that’s the only option would be better. The rolls I ordered were super cold almost as if they were pre-made, the quality was comparable to just buying sushi from a grocery store. For one roll I ordered no onion and no cucumber and they completely left it on even though I saw on the receipt attached to the to-go bag they wrote in handwriting to “replace the cucumber with tofu”.Hopefully they’re a lot better for their regular menu! but i think they’ve definitely lost a whole demographic of people who enjoyed vegan sushi.
Yikes. This place took a head first leap off a cliff. The quality was so good here. Now it's just a shadow of it's former self.Saying this place has vegan sushi is like saying it has vegan water. It's vegan, but only because it's already vegan not because it's anything special. No more vegan scallops or vegan tuna. It's just another everyday cucumber roll sort of place.Give this place a pass. If you want basic quality, there are cheaper places. If you want good quality, there are better places.
The blue bird Sushi that used to be at this location was great but they moved to 16367 Bolsa Chica St. Huntington Beach, CA 92649. I haven't tried the new place that has taken the same location and is repurposing the name yet so i can't tell you if it is good or not.
Good spot. You can get a nice mix of ramen and sushi here.
There's nowhere to sit!! A few small tables on the sidewalk, no table inside and there is no sushi chef in sight. I wanna SEE MY SUSHI CHEF ....AND THE FISH!! Nah, can't take a date....and blind ordering is for burgers and taco stands. Too bad, it's a great location.
First. The Miso Soup is tasty, and a good starter. Second. The Inari Sushi is really good especially after the Miso Soup (mainly, to me, because of the seaweed which I like complementary to Miso Soup as I'm eating it). I like the balance of sweetness over savoriness. There is a hint of a really good sauce which goes very well with the Inari Sushi. Third. The Jungle Roll is soooooooooo tasty especially with onions from the grill. The Jalapeños offer the right amount of savoriness though the sauce is like a sweet vinaigrette. The Tempura makes The Jungle Roll a decent protein meal. Overall, the meal is extremely filling. The chef(s) does/do not disclose the ingredients of any of the sauces. I don't think any of the meals require Ginger or Wasabi (as each tastes so good without though I like dipping The Jungle Rolls in the soy sauce). To the staff working from 8:15 PM to close on 9/25/2021, thank you for the good cooking, and customer service. I'm really glad to have a go to Vegan Sushi spot. Blue Bird Sushi accepts Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay.
The sushi is very tasty, my wife and I have ordered takeout 4x in the past two months. We highly recommend it if you're vegan and crave sushi.
Ordered the Baked Salmon Roll . It listed Green Onions on the ingredients. Didn't come with any ... Very sad won't really come by again ?
The best ramen and sushi ive ever had.
