Our food was fine but the waitress could have been a little more professional
This place sucks. Tried calling to place an order. No answer. Went in to order. Three people in the restaurant eating. The staff all standing around counter and talking. When I said that I tried to call, they said phone not working. So, I called right then.... guess what, phone worked. They said it doesn't work all the time. I hope those idiots realize that without paying customers, you have no job. Good riddance. And by the way, your food is not that good
Old fashioned ice cream, breakfast food to wake up for, lunch sandwiches making you ask when you will be back, and you have not even looked at the dinner menu. This place is great. From the atmosphere to the service this is a must try in Lodi. (Or Galt)
Food is always good, our server (sorry forgot her name) was a lady with blonde hair kind of tall and was GREAT. She is one of the best waitresses we have ever had. ❤
It was pretty busy, and there was a new server being trained, but the experience was very good despite those things. Our drinks were quick, the food came out hot and everything was correct. We were checked on and coffee refilled more than once. We will be back!
I was looking for a diner. I like a simple diner for breakfast. A good diner will have good food. But the food is only part of what makes a diner a diner.Of course the food is good.A staff that is unhurried, but quick and responsive is also a factor. This doesn't happen if they are drastically understaffed. Well, Velvet Grill manages to have a superior staff who are friendly, responsive, and capable. They appear to genuinely like their customers and each other. I've yet to see them as short-handed as most chain diners chronically are.
They have recently updated the interior maintaining the "classic" diner layout. Velvet is a favorite for breakfast and dinner. Haven't regeted a meal here, they have some the the best fries and ranch in town. The desserts are worth it.
Wonderful waitress. The food was plentiful. Not overly seasoned. Good American fare plus ice cream. Also a great Pozole Verde without onions, a delicious first course.
Good value food, quick and attentive service, clean dining area. Would visit again. I would have liked to try one of their dessert offerings, but I was stuffed!
Great food,great service, well run restaurant. The blueberry pancakes are the best in the area.
