Panera's food is okay - it's nothing to swoon over or go out of my way for. For a chain, the quality is not as good as the defunct Specialty's, but on par with Corner Bakery. The wares are priced appropriately. This is fine though because it meets my general expectations for retail chain restaurants - consistent, average food, served fast, and moderately priced. I'm part of the "Unlimited Sip Club" - so my standard routine is to order a refill online, walk in, top off, leave, and say nothing. Strictly transactional. Because of how I use Panera, I probably wouldn't have even posted anything; but in light of my recent, spectacularly awful experience with a surly barista at the Starbucks on North Livermore and Portola, I felt I should write something.I walk in this morning for my refill, and the dark coffee dispenser was being refilled. So I try the Hazelnut instead, but it was on its last dregs. The Panera employee who was working the floor saw that and asked if it was out; I said yes, and he was very apologetic about it and said he'd have it refilled shortly. As I was waiting for the carafe to be refilled, he came back out and asked for my travel mug to top it off directly at the brewing station.I was just super pleased by this. I wasn't being intrusive - I was just staring at my phone and waiting for my drink - but the Panera employee saw that and just wanted to rectify the situation. Here's someone who cared about the quality of his work and was just providing fantastic customer service.
I really enjoy going to Panera bread. Their soups and salads are fantastic. I can never get enough of the French baguettes. And their pastries are amazing. Good coffee and bagels as well. Their sandwiches are really good but a little too fufu for my taste. But that's not to say that they're not good, I just prefer a more traditional sandwich. This time I tried the sausage and pepperoni flatbread pizza and it was pretty good! I also tried the agave lemonade for the first time, but was not really a fan of that. It had a funny taste to it, I would have definitely preferred just a regular lemonade. I was honestly a little surprised I didn't like it, because I love lemonade and have it several times a week and I use agave syrup in my coffee every morning. I love going there for breakfast and lunch but have often been frustrated going there for dinner as they tend to run out of a lot of menu items each day. I can understand running out of things once in awhile when it's really heavy rush, but it happens way too much and speaks to poor planning. I get that they cook fresh which is great and that they do not want to over buy, but running out of broccoli cheddar soup, among several other items, so often is a little frustrating. I should mention that critique is not exclusive for this location but several others that I have frequented. But overall I've always enjoyed coming to Panera and will continue to go.
We like the soup and salad combo. You can really mix it up. Lots of choices.
I'll tell you this particular Panera Bread location was awesome first of all from the gentleman that took her order very nice and professional gentleman did a great job then I wasn't sure what bread that I wanted so I went around and I asked one of the girls that was making sandwiches she stopped what she was doing and she helped me figure it out and she did it with a great smile on her face didn't complain her look like she was bothered she just did it gracefully and nicely thank you Rosie and Alex he was great we mentioned that our table had a little bit of stuff on it that needed wiping down he overheard us saying that and he got right on it and wiped our table down and then wiped it all dry with an excellent job Alex the whole crew there is very team oriented you can tell they all do their particular job that they need to do and it makes for a great operation and a great experience from might me and my mother to have and nice killer lunchThank you again Panera Bread and thank you again Rosie and Alex for your great job

We have always liked Panera's - their pastries - their salads - their soups. We stopped going to the one close to us because they always seem to run out of things - you want a salad? Sorry, we are out of lettuce.....you want soup? all we have left is.....You want your sandwich on what bread? Oh, we are out of that... So we decided to go to this one when we were in the area because that use to be our go-to Panera's until we moved. Relatively empty at the time of day, and the day we went. Which was nice. Our order was not quite right, but it was a minor detail so no fuss. But my husband's cup of soup was not even 1/2 full! And the baguettes they give with the soup - at first I thought it was a 1/2 slice of the baguette. Not sure if this is a new fangled recipe, but it looked as though the yeast did not rise. The baguette was maybe 1 - 1.5" thick. And although we both had baguettes, only my husband got butter for his (luckily he doesnt use it!). And it had slowed down enough that someone should have been cleaning the trash areas. The one near us was so overflowing that people had started stacking their plates/ bowls on the nearest table. Someone did eventually come out and clear that table.....but the trash was not emptied and only straightened up by the time we left (someone came out and stacked the plates and bowls but did not clear them away). The picture with husband's soup was taken after he had taken a spoonful of it. I also had soup and my bowl was probably about 2/3s full - much more than his.
I've been getting acquainted with the Panera app, most recently ordering an on-the-go breakfast for pickup from this spot in Livermore. Everything was ready as promised, and the staff was helpful. The parking lot feels poorly-designed, which always kind of drives me crazy, but I can't fault Panera for that. 5 stars for making my morning easy.
Love the tuna sandwiches! Great customer service. Like there is a little conference room to do a private meeting. Restroom clean
I have ordered sandwiches at the Livermore Panera several times over the last few months and have been super disappointed. They are sloppily made and the ingredients, which are minimal, are always on one side of the sandwich. So I have a half a sandwich and then two pieces of bread with hardly anything on it. It's like they just throw it together. Literally. From across the room. I will not buy sandwiches from this location every again.
