I'm not sure what happened here, whether it was a change in the cooks or the recipe but regardless this was the worst catfish nuggets and fries I ever had!! No flakey fish, just hard fried like potato chips. I've given this place more than enough opportunities to impress me & only have I been disappointed. It's a shame because I like Randy but when he's absent, the quality changes.
The food is really good, although there's a bit too much seasoning salt. Actually the food is really good! The issue is the employees and their horrible customer service. Ezekiel was rude as hell. Told me he dropped 2 pieces of my chicken on the floor in the back when I informed him that I was missing a few. He laughed when saying it which I thought was extremely rude. Then he had the nerve to get upset when I told him so. He also charged me for food and refused to give it to me as well as check receipt. He just flat out continued to say, "I didn't order extra". Two days later when I was finally able to reach Mark, the "manager" he cursed me out and denied that his employee Ezekiel would do such things. Claiming Ezekiel is "Too grown and too mature". I was very respectful both times. There aren't many places in the Antelope Valley where you can get great southern soul food so the fact that I plan on calling cooperate and the health department as well as BBB saddens me. Ps I understand the food is fresh but there's no way customers should wait more than 20mins for an order.
First of the drive was worth it My husband and I give u a 10 the food was amazing.. I got the #10 Fried chicken dinner with Mac & cheese, greens yams and corn bread for the hubby. I have never tasted greens so good like here and I have ate at plenty of soul food places but this place beats any soul food place??? my husband got the #6 Randy JR he said everything was good yes he ate my sides too. I would recommend Randy's Chicken and Waffles to family and friends
First off I hadn't been here in almost a year, because they had changed up their chicken recipe but baby when I say that crispy, flakey, juicy taste was dead on this past weekend I went, it was ?! I got the Deluxe Shrimp and Lobster grits super cheesy and bomb,bomb, bomb!!! RANDY!!!! I will be back very soon??
We ordered lunch for a bunch of family who came to town. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, but either way, we got undivided attention from the staff, super friendly conversation, and most importantly, delicious food!!! The eggs are soft and fluffy, the chicken sausage was fantastic, and the fried chicken was so good that we fought over it! By far our favorite were the yams. We highly recommend it!
The food was delicious!! I had the two pork chop dinner and my daughter had the whole chicken wings and fries. It tasted amazing. We definitely will pull up all summer for the GREEN APPLE LEMONADE!! It reminded me of summers in Inglewood walking to Darby park and getting a slushy from the candy house ⭐️ Thank you Randy for providing excellent food! Service and experiences.!!!!
The food was great! The chicken was nice and crispy, the catfish was perfect, the portions of the sides and the meals in general were well worth the price! Everything was perfectly seasoned and the strawberry lemonade is good enough to go back for that alone! I’ve had better greens home made but for a fast food place they were the best I’ve had, and the Mac n cheese was PERFECT. Employee didn’t talk much but he got the order right and I have no complaints on the food! I don’t go out to eat to talk to the employees anyways, I go for the food and I’m extremely pleased.
The service was great! The food was delicious. It's about 30 minutes away for me. But, the drive was worth it. The ribs are well barbecued and well portioned. The Mac and cheese is yummy. Their chicken is OMG!
I gave it a 3 because my food was great but the man who took my order was soooo rude. This was my first time at Randy's ever and was very interested, I even told the guy like I never been here before and he didn't explain the combos or anything he was like "this Randy's figure it out".. Like wait,✋ what? He was very unpresentable and had a blut hanging out his pocket so maybe he needed a smoke break. So just know when you come to this location be ready to might have to go to war with the employees and after that who really wants the food anymore? I asked myself is Randy like his employees?
I ordered oxtails with collard greens, rice, gravy, and cornbread. They sent oxtails, yams, rice and gravy. I don't like yams, some of the oxtails were burnt, and the gravy was not traditional soul food gravy; instead it was made with kitchen bouquet and lots of cheap beef bullion. While the meal wasn't nasty it wasn't what i was expecting nor was it near as good as I was hoping and i wouldn't order it again. The cornbread muffin tasted more like a cupcake and I wouldn't order it again.
