I really like this place. I've eaten here a few times. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. Highly recommend their house made hummus! The pita chips are unique in that they are fried to serve. Crispy yet soft in the inside. I also tried the Ortega burger with a chipotle aioli. Very good but if I am giving an honest review, I ordered the burger medium and it was served well. Also I don't think the burger needed additional fat/grease and the bun looked like it was brushed with butter or fat (likely for the aesthetics but it wasn't needed). Very juicy nonetheless.
Out of 6 meals, only one person enjoyed theirs. They had the salmon. Everything else was not very good. Grandma didn't even like her salad.
The mussels were great! Good selection of beer. The gravy for the poutine wasn't my cup of tea. I thought it tasted like it came from a package.
Servers are great. They are always accommodating for large parties and make sure to get everyone’s order and checks out correctly. Food is decent. Stick with the simple items and drinks. The hot chicken was not very good. Nothing like you’d get in the south that’s called hot chicken. The vegan hash was tasty and same for the nacho and tater tot plates
My steak I wanted med/rare was med. My wife's Salmon was overcooked. the garlic potatoes were overwhelmed with garlic. We both didn't eat them. The grilled asparagus was a little burnt. We went there tonight, they were out of a couplel items we wanted including all ciders which my wife wantedIt was our first experience at the Tap House and it was not a good one. Also it was very loud with some drunk people. One ran into me and almost fell on his back. Definitely not a place for a couple in there 50s #notgoingback
Although the food started off really good at the bottom of the salad was wlited greens resembling a slug. When I told the waiter/ bar tender, (he was on his phone using a ear piece the whole time we were in the restaurant) he took our salad plates and asked if we wanted a new one .we said no thanks. We asked for the bill and he didn't even take the salads off. So I reminded him and he only removed one salad from the bill. We had waiting about 45 minutes to and hour for Brisket Nachos and a Burger that I order lettuce wrap and he was so busy on the phone that he forgot to tell the Chef no bun. The Nachos and the meat patty after removed the bun was really good but by then the service had really suck and we will never return to the tap house ever again
I'd heard some good things about this place but never got around to visiting until this week. It's true that the tap list is pretty expansive and they had some great options, the Young's Double Chocolate Stout on nitro was a pleasant surprise, as was the Stone Xocoveza. However, the food was underwhelming. I ordered the Jamaican jerk wings, and expected well spiced, flavorful, dry rubbed wings, but what I got were slathered in a sweet sauce that tasted vaguely of jerk spices. The poutine with a fried egg and duck was better but nothing impressive and despite being my appetizer order, arrived well after I'd finished the wings.That takes us to the service. There was only one cook, one server, and one bartender working on a Wednesday night. Our party was large but I still feel like the three of them would have struggled with keeping up with the volume of orders. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the service. All three did what they could and we tipped well, but they shouldn't be in that position. Management would do well to hire more people or reduce serving capacity. Some of my party never received their orders or received them after a 90 minute wait. That's unacceptable.I probably won't be back. But, if I do, it would probably be just for a drink.
Seven of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner with an amazing menu! Our server Lauren was so accommodating, helping with items we had never tried before and making sure we had what we needed. We are going back soon!!
Great food, great selection of beers, always excellent service. I have never not had a good time.
Me and my husband came to try this for lunch and it was sooooo good! Would recommend highly! We will be coming back!
