I have been coming here for a year, at least 3 times a week. Drinks are good, staff is friendly but "management" has been out of town for what feels like a month. Their drip coffee machine broke and no one knows how to fix it. A quick amazon search shows multiple 100 cup machines for around $100. Management did not have the foresight, and cannot figure out how to drip hot water onto coffee beans. I am so disappointed by the incompetence of Management that I will not be coming back. Get good service at the Starbucks right down the street.
Got a bag of beans and drink I really love from the trip to Oregon. Now I can enjoy this here in SoCal!
Review update: This used to my favorite local coffee place. The quality has really gone downhill over the last few months for me. Some of the other reviews have already mentioned this but the biggest reason for the drop in quality is the coffee to milk ratio. The service has been great, everyone is really friendly. However, the last few times I have come to Human Bean my drink tastes like milk with a tiny splash of coffee. It's hardly tastes like coffee at all. I can forgive and forget this happening once but this has happened to me and my father in law (who really likes Human Bean too) several times now. I love this place so I am going to give one more chance.
Way better than any starbucks ive had in recent time. Just about the same price for way better quality. 10/10
I want to give a 5-star review, but it honestly depends on the day and the barista... Overall, delicious drinks and a strong, unique menu! The coffee is good (getting a double shot, though, doesn't always make a difference in taste with sweeter drinks). The warm food is ok (it's fairly new to the menu). The biscotti are the best! They also have smoothies and a kids' menu.
Why have I not reviewed this place sooner?! This is our favorite little coffee shop to walk to with the family every weekend. The staff is always so friendly and the drinks are always delicious! They know us there and our orders. It really is the best!!! We have been coming once a week or more for almost 4 years!
Used to be a good place! And we used to go there often, but Now they don’t have many things in the menu! Also if you just walk there with no car (we live in neighborhood and sometimes we have morning walks on that area), you literally need to stand between the cars . Also we had just 2 orders which they mixed that up! Won’t go there again!
I drive by two other coffee places to get to The Human Bean and I am never disappointed. The coffee is delicious and the espresso bean always makes me smile. Above all, though, the people who work here bring me back. They are kind, efficient and make great suggestions. Even when the line is long, they remain calm and my order is always correct. Plus, my son loves the donut holes and kid smoothies!
One of the best coffee spots around!! ! Better than star bucks any day of the week!!
Can I just say that I appreciate the smiling faces and genuine attitudes of the Human Bean staff. I love supporting small business and this coffee is delicious.
