Peruvian Seafood Salad

Second time here and it was excellent just like the first time. I usually don't give 5 stars, but the place is a great value, owner is super friendly and the food is delicious. I had the ceviche mix seafood and it was to die for. A lot of fresh seafood including scallops, shrimp, mussel and fish. We also had the lomo saltado and it was excellent. They give you plenty of food and you don't leave hungry. Help support local small business. The owner has always come out and talked to diner's to see how they are doing. Wonderful small restaurant.

I am going to preface this review with "Never judge a book by its cover"Your first impression upon pulling into this shopping center will be to keep driving. We ordered food to go from here, so I kind of needed to follow through.First off, it wasn't cheap... But it was amazingly tasty! I was very impressed. The ceviche was refreshing, the soup was amazing... Most definitely worth a try.

I cannot express how delicious that sandwich was. This is a very authentic spot, everything made fresh to order and the owner/manager greets you with open arms, excited to see your reaction to his food. If you’re in the area or even passing thru on the 5, do yourself a favor and grab a bite here! I had a pan con chicharron and only regret how quickly I ate it.

I had the Mixto Ceviche and chorros. Everything was delicious and unique. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef. He was delightful! The staff were very kind and the outdoor seating area was nicely done.

Ordered takeout, such large portions even for the lunch portion! Food wasn't greasy or overcooked, and came out fresh and hot! Well packaged in nice to-go containers, too which some restaurants are lacking. Highly recommend - I learned they also cater so will have to keep that in mind for the future!

I'm not sure how people can say this is the best Peruvian they have ever had. If this is the best you've ever had then sadly I feel for you. However, on the bright side, you are going to be blown away when you try really good Peruvian food, so I am also excited for you. Let me explain my whole experience. I was looking for a new Peruvian place to try. I saw the place had great reviews and good pictures. It.just seemed a little pricey. When I arrived, there were plenty of places to sit both inside and outside the restaurant. The place is clean and the host/waiter and cashier was a character. Very animated and somewhat theatrical, frankly he was entertaining and very courteous. So far so good. Now, sadly, my guest and I both ordered the same dish, the Aji De Gallina. So, maybe on this day they completely switched from excellent to inedible? That's suspect. The food served was gross. It was cold. It tasted old. It was old. It was what you could expect had someone scraped their left-overs from lunch plate into a plate, bypassed warming it up and served it to us. We could not even get it down and we were starving. The Aji is the absolute worst I have ever had. The eggs and potatoes were not right, cold but not fridge cold. Cold as if they had been sitting out and added to the slop after. The sauce was horrible; part ketchup, part mayo consistency but cold in some places and warm in others just like a microwaved dish comes out of you don't stir it in the cooking process. However, the worst part by far was the boiled, sinewy, bone filled chicken that looked like it had been put in a blender with some powdered Aji and dirty water and set on frappe mode. I have no clue what these other people ate but I will never eat there again. I take stuff home for the dogs when I hate it. We left the full plates minus one bite each and left. Renzo, I hate to leave this review as it sounds like you are a nice guy but I have to leave this review because the only way I can help the members of my community is to prepare them with honest facts. I will gladly post my receipt and pictures to validate my experience.

So I keep forgetting to leave this review but it's especially needed tonight at 1240am as I'm having leftovers for a late night binge meal from Renzo's Taste of Peru.Entree's:Chicken ChaufaLomo SaltadoAguadito de PolloNow....My wife and I live in Chula Vista, San Diego. Renzo's restaurant is located in Lake Forest, CA some 100 miles from us. But that does not stop of from randomly getting in the car with our 3 year old son to trek to his amazing restaurant.By far THE best Peruvian food we have eaten. We've tried many places but Renzo's Taste of Peru tops them all. A plus is his always cheerful demeanor and nice staff. Everything we've ordered is packed full of flavor. It's irresistible to not drive every 3 weeks just to get food here!Oh! and the green sauce is to die for! We buy bottles of them!

I had gone to Renzo’s several times when their restaurant was off Von Karman and Michelson in Irvine because their food was amazing. I was shocked to find they closed due to the entire shopping center remodeling over several years. I was so happy I would come to find them again in Lake Forest! The food is EXCELLENT and the lomo saltado is just the best in OC. Renzo uses filet mignon which is as close to alpaca as you’re going to get. Renzo is super friendly and a joy to talk with. I love this place and it’s totally worth the drive. Sincere best wishes to Renzo and staff…fantastic job!

I don't live close to here but I wish I did so I could go back. Stopped in to buy lunch because I was in the area. I grabbed a salad and tried the arroz con pollo. Both were delicious and way more than enough food for two. I hope I get the chance to go back and try the loma saltado. The customer service was also great - they treated me like I was a regular - such friendly people.

This Peruvian restaurant serves the best food. It's a must try every time I come to lake forest. My all time fav is always the limo Salado. The filer melts in your mouth! And buy a side of the Aji sauce to take home!
