Enjoyed this AYCE sushi spot. Small rice, big fish. Definitely another place to add to the list.
Nice chill place for ayce sushi. Rarely crowded.Good sushi quality. They don’t put a lot of rice in the sushi. They do charge extra if you don’t finish your food.
Not as good as I thought. The food was bland and the tea had a unique taste. I tried the Boba and wasn’t impressed either. Parking tends to be an issue at lunch with limited spaces.
We returned to Kanji after an interval of six years. The menu was smaller than before, but the taste was very good. We had a baked salmon volcano roll with eel sauce, mixed tempura, and a glass of umeshu plum wine. All were very good. We were surprised to see that there were no other dine-in customers at 1:30 pm. There was a sign saying they gave a 30% discount for take-out orders and another saying they were looking for staff. For now, we recommend take-out rather than dining in.
Had AYCE sushi here and must say it is one of the best restaurant that offers it in all of OC. Fish is very fresh and high quality vs many similar AYCE sushi restaurants. I’ve been to multiple places that offers AYCE sushi and usually by the end, you never want to look at sushi again for months. Here, the nigiri and the rolls had the perfect amount of rice and seemed like it would be the same quality as if you came to order a la carte. There were no limits on rolls and do make sure to eat everything you order as well. The workers here also worked very efficiently as though the restaurant was packed, all of our food come out timely. We never had to wait too long for any of the rolls. Our orders also came smoothly and no rolls were ever missing. All the sides and appetizers that we ordered were also great- my favorite is the Pink Lady! I recommend any one in OC to come check out this restaurant, it’s even worth it for an hour drive! I’m excited to bring all my friends/family here and honestly wouldn’t mind coming weekly as it is truly amazing!
Absolutely loved our experience here! We ordered the Jalapeño popper appetizer and a couple specialty rolls. The Kanji roll was crazy good! We also ordered the shoyu ramen and the chashu had a beautiful char on it and the broth was very flavorful! The service was also the best! Everyone was so kind and welcoming and regularly check on us! Will absolutely be going here again.
This is a perfect place for a business lunch or lunch with friends, or dinner. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was responsive and excellent. Most importantly, the sushi was delicious. We started out with gyoza and shrimp tempura, both delicious and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend a sashimi salad which was very generous with the portion size and amount of fish. We ended with orders of yellowtail and salmon (wrapped around avocado) sashimi, both presented in a unique way which we would order again. Really a fantastic experience all around!
Fantastic experience. Service was great and fast. We did the all you can eat sushi and definitely ate all we could! Everything tasted fantastic and there were a lot of options to choose from.
This is my local sushi bar and I am a frequent and happy customer. I always order take out, so I cannot comment on the dine-in experience. They offer a takeout discount over the pandemic, so I get the same 3 items every time, and they don't disappoint: kanji roll, lolly polly, pink lady. No complaints overall, except one time they misheard my "kanji roll" as "crunchy roll", which was unexpected, but corrected for free. Maybe they shouldn't offer other rolls that rhyme with their signature roll.
all you can eat is amazing.
