Had the best burrito selection in California but removed all but two. Its been closed for 2 months because of vandalism or construction from what the new notice in the window said. I drove all the way down there because they changed their online hours after being closed for two months to open but when I got there the sign said they were still closed due to construction. I've been going here for 35 years but cutting out the bakery and making a bar, raising prices and taking out the best things on the menu...... I wont be back. Good luck
This place is legit!! The food is true authentic Mexican cuisine. I compliment the cook every time I go. He knows that true Mexican cooks do not use cheddar or jack cheese on their beans or tacos. We use cotija cheese which is how it's really done. The bartender, Ismael, is awesome. The drinks he makes are sooooooo very good. You get what you pay for. They are pricey but worth every penny! We try to go at least four or five times a month. I highly recommend this place.
Cocktails are better than anything else. Service and food is decent. They do a unique take on traditional Mexican food. If you're looking for something fun and different this is you're place. It's a bit on the and pricier side but it's a nice sit down experience.Unfortunately the place hasn't had any new items on the menu in years so when you've tried everything it can get a bit stale experience-wise. Hopefully they will spruce things up a bit and release new menu items when they reopen after their renovations.
Had a very delicious brunch. Ordered the rojos chilaquiles & sunny side eggs on top with an appetizer of Mexican corn off the cob. Wife ordered the Chile rellenos which I had a bite of, also ??We both enjoyed the Mexican Zebra mule to go along our meal. Refreshing!?We were also informed they will closing after today for remodeling (bigger)! Approx completion is a month or so...We look forward to returning not just for the new layout but for the great food.Sorry for the no pics today...I blame the chilaquiles!
Very nice quiet little restaurant. Great food and great service. Highly recommend
I have been coming to this Restaurant for years but recently had our Company Holiday lunch at La Unica. They blew us away with the best food and service. This place crushes the competition with food and drink and has the feel of a high end restaurant but with a family appreciation. Best place between Orange County and San Diego for true Mexican food and best customer service!
Awesome food. The OG burrito is great as are all the tacos. They have really good beans too. Ishmael makes the best cadillac margaritas.
Went for a quick lunch today after our friends had recommended this place to us! We were not disappointed! The vibe is a little small with a bar so I imagine this place gets packed during busy hours! Service was fantastic! They start you off with some home style tortilla chips and some amazing salsa! We both ordered the Cadillac Margarita; those were great! My wife ordered the Al pastor, barbacoa and Baja fish tacos and I ordered the carnitas, filet mignon (not always available) and the barbacoa! All of the tacos came out unique in toppings and the flavors of each protein were just wonderful! The portions are perfect size! Definitely, if you’re in old town Lake Elsinore and looking for some incredible Mexican food with an authentic flavor, this is the jam! Can’t wait to come back! Ismel was our server, and he was great! Thank you!
I came here with my family for lunch. I was not impressed. First off, there is no hot water in the men's bathroom when you wash your hands. The water is ice cold and my hands a frozen.Next, at the time we ate, there were two waitresses serving a total of 4 tables including ours. That is two tables each, does not seem like to much of a work load. Yet, once we were seated and our drink orders were taken, it was about 10 minutes before before they brought the chips and salsa. Come on, this is a mexican restaurant - chips and salsa should be a priority!Next problem, the salsa comes in tiny little cups. So, you eat through the salsa very fast. So, I ask for another cup. It took about 5 minutes for the her to bring another cup of salsa.Lastly, our food comes. I like to put some salsa on my tacos. But, you guessed it I'm out of salsa because the salsa cups are, so small (there are like 4 or 5 table spoons in the cup - its a ridiculously small amount of salsa in the tiny little cup).I ask for another salsa as she set sets my tacos on the table. She never comes back with the salsa. She never comes back to check on us. I wait and wait while my food gets cold for the salsa to come. After about 10 minutes I'm able to attract her attention and remind her about the salsa I has asked for. Then she finally brings it out and I got to eat my cold tacos. All in all a very bad experience. I will not be coming back here.
Service was very good, food is very yummy, will come back with the wife!
