I used to love this place, and would have given it a 5 star review. It would seem that rising costs have affected this establishment as well. The increase in price was expected due to the inflation of the economy, unfortunately the quality has dramatically dropped. I was saddened by this. The local food truck that serves many of the same items excels greatly over the product I purchased, and is less expensive. A food truck should not be better. The Carnita burrito lacked in flavor and tasted more liked boiled pork, there was hardly any add ons like cilantro, onions, the guacamole was almost completely absent, for $9.98 you would expect more, I would have fared better at Del Taco, the Horchata was served warm, and on a hot day a cold drink is greatly desired. Had to request Salsa Roja. Salsa Roja, or Verde used to be offered without asking, and could be declined if not desired. Overall the quality of food is below expectations, and the customer service, although pleasant, was below expected standards.
I’ve been a fan of El Unico for many years! I was so glad to see they reopened so I could eat my favorite tacos again and have my boyfriend try it! We went for dinner. He loved the patio! We ordered fish, shrimp and carnitas tacos and french fries. The tacos were so tasty! I’ve never had the carnitas there. It was so fresh! After we ate I asked him if he’d like to come back. He replied “Yea! I want to try more!” I showed him the menu and he was excited to try several different tacos next time! We will be back!
Highly recommend. We got the Shrimp Ceviche Tostada, make your own tacos (asada and carnitas, half pound each), and pistachio cake. Very dog friendly. In fact, our dog got the protein dinner and they gave him a bowl of water. The outdoor seating was so nice and lovely! All the food were delicious! The service was great even if it technically wasn’t a sit in restaurant. On top of that, the food was super cheap for the quality and quantity we got. Definitely going back.P.S. wish they had more taco toppings.
The place a small and quaint. Great place for a quick meal or a meal to go. The food is great. They are located next door to a park so it's great to take family and sit at park for a picnic.
First time here & my wife and I enjoyed the beautiful patio! Only negative about the atmosphere was the lack of bug zappers. Be prepared to share your meal with swarms of flies!The food was OUTSTANDING! Hands-down the best chicken tortilla soup we've ever tasted!Carne asada burrito was great & the shrimp taco blew us away!!! The chips& salsa were amazing, too. I wasn't expecting much, since I normally don't care for green salsa, but it tasted almost magical. So good, in fact, we bought more to take home.Only negative about the food was that the "bowl" of soup wasn't served in a bowl, but rather, in a tall deli-like plastic container which would be fine if the spoons had longer handles. Be prepared to get your fingers wet on your way to the chicken at the bottom of the container!Great service & wonderful people. We'll be back!
This is the best Mexican food in the riverside area. Family owned, all fresh and my wife lobes the Gluten free options. Truly great place to eat. Highly recommended
We are so excited El Unico is back open! We are extremely sorry for your loss! Hands down the best Mexican Food in Lake Elsinore! I would rate higher than a 5 if I could!!
Finally open again after a 2-year hiatus.We are so elated to see this great little gem open again. Fortunately, the food is as good as ever, although they don't have the full old menu yet. Mostly I missed the chili relleno, but that will be coming again soon.Apparently the same family own and run this place, so we had the same friendly and efficient service.
Love this place. So happy they are back open. Been coming here for over 25 years. Staff is wonderful. Food is excellent.
They have the best shredded chicken tacos in town amongst other things always love that place so glad it's back open
