Haven't been here in a couple of years, but we were out of the country. Corner bakery has always been a reliable place to grab a meal whether with the family or at work. Normally, I'd go with a soup and sandwich meal for lunch or get the creamy pasta for the kids when we go. The food here is good and reliable, which at times is what we need. The outdoor dining also made us feel more comfortable because we just moved back to So Cal from Asia, so we're still adjusting to dining in crowded areas.
I recommend for coffee choose Hazelnut, buy with a senior discount if a senior, choose a regular size cup, return to the self serve urn if you need to, don't buy the large cup if you plan on staying long enough to drink all your coffee there, just refill the small cup.I recommend that you split the family order into 3 separate smaller orders to get all the deals. For example if you have a BOGO make that one completely separate order, and if you have a 99 cent drink, make that one completely separate order, and if you are a senior, make the rest of your order have a senior discount apply to just that separate order, don't attempt to get a senior discount on the bogo.
Staff was nice the food is not worth the price.
Friendly service. Fresh beautiful food
This was my experience on a particular day.I came in very near the end of the day. I didn't mean to. I just forget they close at 3 and so many local restaurants have closed down.I ordered 2 bowls of soup. It's about $7/bowl. They didn't have lids for the to go bowl container, so they put the soups in their smallest coffee cups. I said that I'm not going for that. So she changed to the larger coffee cups. She tried to tell me that the tiny coffee cups are the same size as the to go soup bowls.I just don't get the thought process. She was going to scrimp on my serving size with soup they were going to toss out anyway. But retail sucks right now. Maybe she had a bad day. Maybe she was tired. Maybe was ticked that I came in so close to closing. But it's offputting. And I'm tired too.
Disclaimer: this review is based on my own experience. The review might be better or worse based on others’ experiences.I just tried the chicken noodle soup. It wasn’t good regarding the price and ingredients: very tiny bit of chicken. Scant noodles and some cut celery and carrot I assume. Mostly salty water in the bowl. I’d rather go to Panera bread. With the same price, I could get more realistic chicken noodle soup in a larger bowl with more pieces of chicken and noodles and a side of baguette.
Turkey sandwich was about what you'd expect at any number of nearby casual dining spots. Nothing special. Tomato basil soup tasted too sweet like it was pumped full of sugar or corn syrup.
Order and pay for extra meat. Instead i get 1 single slice of meat. Not only that, its not a panini, its just grilled bread. Absolutely trash. Tried to call and they left it ringing for 4 minutes. Trash. Trash.
Awesome cinnamon rolls and banana bread muffins..
Nice menu and good tasting selection.
