I love this restaurant! I have been there two dozen times since they opened. I was the first customer when they opened the Mercato
We went here to celebrate a joined birthday and a late Father’s Day. Our server, Sterling, was kind and accommodating. Cocktails were okay, wine selection was good. Salad was good, appetizers were okay. Pizza was great—crust was super yum and the way it should be: pillowy, crusty, and chewy. Heard great things about the lamb shank dish and the sides that come with. Ambience was open and bright with a cute grocery section in the front. Would come back again for the pizza.
We went last weekend for the first time, and only because Hendricks said we had just missed their brunch by 4mins.??♀️Well, so glad we decided to walk across the bridge to Bottega Angelina As soon as we walked in we were greeted with great music by a duo singing and on the piano. At the entrance they have some delicious desserts. My sister and I grabbed some while our husbands went to the table. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful view which included the ocean. The food was delicious as well as the pastries and you can’t beat $22 unlimited mimosas. Oh and our waitress was on top of everything! We had a great experience and can’t wait to go again.
A wonderful restaurant in the old Savannah Chophouse. They did a complete remodel. It's just exquisite. Fresh made pasta in a vibrant atmosphere and fantastic Italian cuisine!
Great food great views! Nice wine list!
Bottega Angelina was an amazing experience! From the presentation of the food to the atmosphere inside to the views from the wonderful patio, this place is somewhere you deserve to treat yourself to. The interior feels very modern Italian and even has a small market to buy high quality ingredients. I hope more restaurants like this come to this world. Great place.
Been here twice since it opened. First time, experience was great. It was the afternoon, place was virtually empty. Service was great and attentive. Second time, not so much. It was the evening, we apparently weren't wearing enough Louis Vuitton or diamonds for anyone to give a darn about serving us. Their loss, I tip extremely generously. The whole place came off pretty pretentious. Now, both times the food and drinks were delicious. Pasta, pizza, cocktails, all great. Just don't think I'll ever come back for dinner. There are better Italian places that treat their patrons better. I might swing by their marketplace in the future, but I'll be avoiding this crowded bougie bar on Friday/Saturday evenings.
Lovely drinks and delicious food! The restaurant is so gorgeous!
as a first generation italian, this restaurant makes me feel at home. the menu is in its totality authentic italian. this means two things: 1. the food is made just like it is supposed to be made in our culture, 2. it is not in the slightest modified for the likings of American culture. Therefore if you decide to dine here, go with an open mind because the taste are going to be different and this DOESN’T mean they are no good! They offer a complementary plate at the begging of your dinner which is fried polenta with a side of gorgonzola sauce. this is a very topical north italian dish. polenta is somewhat of a boiled cornmeal which doesn’t have much taste, but with it being fired, it becomes crunchy and very easy to appreciate. when dipped in the sauce of gorgonzola, a very flavorful cheese, it is delicious. I understand how some might find it lacking flavor, but that it just because of the taste you are used to having. Again, this is typical italian and this is how we eat.I read some comments criticizing the pizza’s brown crust and burnt bubbles. believe it or not this is a sign of good pizza. it means that the dough has leavened well, in fact when you tear apart the crust, you can see all the holes of air. I also want to add that margarita pizza is NOT cheese pizza. cheese pizza has more cheese than pizza dough itself. margarita pizza is meant to have less cheese so you are able to taste the flavor of the perfectly cooked dough. Once again, your tastes are based on what you are used to eating, so if you want a cheese pizza here, don’t ask for a margarita! As an appetizer I ordered the tartar which was phenomenal! the presentation of the plate was also amazing. This place is one of the few restaurants in OC serving REAL AUTHENTIC ITALIAN, trust me I know.
I’m surprised by the negative reviews - I’d recommend it and hope you give it a chance.Beautiful restaurant and the outdoor patio view is gorgeous. Everyone in our party loved the food, especially the pizza and drinks. Amazing! I ordered the sea bass and the waiter let me know beforehand that it was the whole fish. Still went with it, delish!!!Not super kid friendly, no high chairs but they have booster seats. The staff was attentive and polite.
