Food is decent, but nothing special. Their salsa was mild and pretty bland. I got a combination plate and it was fine standard Mexican food. Overall I thought it was a few dollars per meal overpriced for what you get.

The reason this is three stars rather than higher is because of the inability of the wait staff to adequately manage the people. The food was excellent and the prices for happy hour were decent. However, they did not have enough workers so we had to wait a long time for service. Otherwise, I would have rated this at four stars.

Great local spot for dinner. The shredded beef is always on point and Walter is an awesome server if you get him. Live music, and the service is strong with good atmosphere. Lots of parking as well.

On our way to SD or OS we always stop by and have some great food. For Father's day we stop and had the brunch special that includes champagne! We order avocado toast carnitas and kids quesadilla and coconut margarita! Maggie had a good taste! When our food arrive I had the carnitas and to my luck it was half fat and the rest was over cooked and dry! Inask the server to bring me another order because this ones had too much fat! His response was: " Thats how the order comes abd they are measured in a plastic bag and I can't bring you another order" my wife and I look at each other and he walk away. After that I call him again and my wife ask him, what happen to our champagne? His response was, You did not ask for it! When in the menue states included w the meal! Other table had a bottle in a bucket on the side! I was so disappointed that I wanted to walk away! I wait until our kids finished their meals! I went to the fro t desk and ask to speak to the manager. The host called him and he came a few minutes later. Manager Manuel Rodriguez approached me and I ask him to speak in private outside that way no gueat will hear my very bad experience. Mr. Rodriguez response was: "I can't get out of the restaurant" I explained all that transpired at our table and he was like the same as the waiter! I was shocked and at the same time upset of the way they handle my concer! He seem not to care and he told me the same thing the wauter told me. I hope his last name is not related to name on the Restaurant! I just could not believe what just happen. We left robbed of the Rodrigo's food experience that we had in the past! We got FATrnitas not Tender juicy Carnitas the way is supposed to be. You be the judge...

We walked to Rodrigo's on a Wednesday night from the Laguna Hills Lodge. We were happy to see that the room where we were seated was filled with booths, surrounded by colorful plastic flowers (real flowers would be too expensive). The chips were excellent, but the salsa wasn't at all spicy. We asked for spicy salsa which we mixed with the bland salsa for a combination that was even better than at more hjghly-rated Mexican restaurants in the area. The chicken tortilla soup was very good, as was the Mexican pizza. Their flan was light and not too heavy. These days, it is hard for restaurants to find wait staff, but our waitress, Abigail M., was helpful, friendly, and unerring. Lots of parking was available. The price was quite reasonable, making the overall value excellent.

Pleasantly surprised good food and service, we had the chili verde/ enchilada combo and the enchilada and taco combo. Definitely will be back.

Wonderful place to meet friends with dogs. They brought 1 husky. We brought 2 huskies and a Leonberger. The patio was very nice and we were the only ones seated in the patio. One waiter seemed afraid of the big gentle giant so another waiter served us. I had adopted one of my huskies from this couple two years ago. Main reason for visit was for them to get to see Kona and how he is doing. It was the perfect relaxing place. I have eaten here a number of times when driving between Orange Co. and San Diego - over 40 years. Food has always been great. Didn't know previously that they had a dog friendly patio! All the more reason to eat here rather than keeps dogs in car - when cool enough!

Their food is so fresh that it's like you made it and just served it up. Everything's great on the menu but, funnily enough I love their Nachos the best. Next time fresh Flautas! It's priced wonderfully and pretty inside. Margaritas are great, freshly made. Go! ☆☆☆☆☆

New menu...and everything so far is delicious. And the best margaritas in town!

If you want authentic Mexican food look elsewhere. Everything tasted canned/bagged but they charge authentic food prices. I could have assembled something better at home.
