This place is awesome! I surprised my husband for our 8th wedding anniversary yesterday with delicious homemade chicken pot pie (his favorite) along with delectable sides thanks to Porch Box! He loved his meal, as did I.It was a first time order, and we were super impressed. We had very generous portions and the quality was outstanding. Another high point was that they had gluten free options (perfect for me!)We are Covid conscious so we carry out if we order out at all, and the whole process was a breeze. Thanks Porch Box, we will be back!
I am a big fan. I was greeted by Amanda (co-owner) who was very friendly and explained how to order. The meal was prepared quickly and delicious. Each side was a complete different experience & all delicious. I will be making this a staple of my diet as my time is limited & it is so difficult to find nutritious meals that fit a budget.
I actually wasn't expecting much. PorchBox is kind of a weird name. It doesn't really tell this California girl what kind of food to expect.I ordered the spinach quiche box. It was YUM. I mean, really YUM. I thought it wouldn't be enough to slake my hunger, but, again, I was wrong. I'm stuffed.In my box was a nice sized slice of spinach quiche. Sometimes quiche can be watery or the crust can be yucky--not here. The quiche was wonderful and custardy. The crust was so tender. I ate every bite.The side salad had colorful ingredients--mixed greens with feta and cucumber. I had it with champagne vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was a bit strong at first, but as I continued eating, I got used to it and really liked it.The cucumber mint gazpacho was a surprise combination. I tentatively sipped it--once, twice--and decided it was a winner, too.Finally, there was some nice fresh fruit--orange slices, strawberries and kiwi. It was a sweet way to end the meal.I wanted to order a dessert but coconut tapioca with passion fruit coulis is not a taste turn-on for me. It's a little cheffy. I like tapioca fine but coconut = bleah. And I can take or leave passion fruit.Not only do I RECOMMEND, but I will also return soon. I hope they have a yummy dessert by that time.
Saw this place online and don’t know why we waited so long to actually stop by. The food is unbelievably good and fresh, awesome service, fair prices and large portions. 100% recommend.
Wow! This place is a standout and deserves high ratings. I got the veggie pot pie box and it was enough for 2 meals. Comfort food with fresh, healthy ingredients was delicious and filling but didn’t weigh me down. The pear crumble dessert is yummy and will last two of us 3 or 4 days. It was ready quick and easy to transport.
Love this spot so much! The owners & staff are all so sweet and nice, and the food is beyond delicious. I am obsessed with the roast chicken box!
Why have I not found this place before?Loved the food, as did my kids who devoured the BBQ boxes ingot for them.
If you’re looking for really wonderfully.good food that isn’t fast food but is fast, healthy and really affordable you have to try PorchBox. You can mix and match any of items in the set menu and you can’t go wrong. My favorite is the roast box.
Great idea. We were on town exploring and stopped to grab some lunch for our picnic. We ordered the roast box and 2 kids boxes, also the pear crumble. The Roast box consist of quarter honey mustard chicken, polenta, kale/ brussel sprout salad with balsamic and green beans that had a creamy type sauce. I enjoyed it, delicious only complaint would be the chicken lacked seasoning besides the little bit that was only on the skin of the chicken. The kids had pulled pork, mac n cheese and corn bread. The pears were sliced thin and cooked, I chose the sweet crumble which was a Graham cracker. I think if all restaurants rotated their menu based on what's in season than our world would benefit greatly. Kudos to whomever opened the PorchBox. Wish that they had a location on San Diego county.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. So good. Like homemadeEveryone that works there is great. So very helpful & kind. Give it a try.
