The Cliff is great. We ate breakfast and dinner there yesterday. Beautiful views, great food and good prices. Love the eggs Benedict and fresh fruit. Dinner was great too. Halibut and Macadamia nut chicken and scallops were all wonderful. Did have some trouble with their online waiting list but all worked out.
Every seat is a great view. The food was good…. Not awesome but solid. The view makes up for where food is lacking. We had the calamari appetizer and fish & shrimp and chips. We finished with coffee and the chocolate cake. I didn’t want to send anything back but again, it wasn’t about the food. Service was fast and friendly, as well. I recommend for sure and I hear their breakfast Is better.
Went there for breakfast yesterday - and while the ocean view was nice, there were some issues... I ordered the Eggs Benedict, but the english muffin was really tough & chewy, and the poached egg yolks (which are supposed to be somewhat runny) were extremely overcooked. Also, the coffee service was really slow - took forever to get a refill. Anyway, not impressed and probably won't be coming back anytime soon...
We ate at a few oceanside/ rooftop restaurants while in town. This was the best view of the ocean by far. During peak times there is a wait, ours was almost an hour but of coarse worth it. Nice little bar in front and shops to walk around to pass the time. Nice selection of cocktails, wine, beer, and food. Food was good but nothing super special but the view and ambience is the show stopper. A sign asks that you keep your dining experience to 90 min. But we never felt rushed.
10 out of 10!!Easy street parking early on a Saturday morning. Waited for seating to begin at 8am and got a table right away, but they did fill up quickly!Food took about 30 minutes to come out, but worth every minute. The traditional eggs Benedict were the best I’ve ever had. The sauce was light and flavorful and the eggs were poached perfectly. The fresh fruit was all perfect too. Very reasonably priced as well!!The views can not be beat. Hope to be able to return in the future - would love to catch a sunset here!
Tasty food with great views. We were happy they had valet parking as well since the parking lot is pretty small. The steak and eggs was really tasty and cooked just how I requested. The waffle was delicious too.Great place to eat if you are at the beach.
The food was great, but it's the views that are worth it. I had the blackened Ahi tuna, and it did not disappoint. There are cute shops to browse while you wait for your table. They also offer valet parking.
The outdoor seating view was what drew us to come here and it did not disappoint. The service from Christian and other servers were excellent. I thought the food was just average, nothing to rave about. The best dish of the night was the coconut shrimp. When we told Christian that the mango salsa didn't go with the shrimp, he suggested that we try their papaya mango sauce which made the dish so much better.
Location, Location, Location! It’s really difficult to beat the views you get when dining at The Cliff Restaurant. We valet parked at $3/hr (cash only) and we were seated promptly as it wasn’t too busy on a Monday night at 5:30 pm. We started off with cocktails, I HIGHLY recommend the Blackberry Mojito, it was amazing and the Shrimp Cocktail ($18) which had a nice kick to it. My husband ordered the Cliff Burger ($20) which came with both a side salad and french fries, my son ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo ($22) with Chicken (+$8), and I had the Surf and Turf ($65) with an added Giant Scallop ($12). My entree came with grilled asparagus and a choice of rice pilaf, garlic mashed potatoes, or baked potato. I chose the baked potato, which came with with sour cream, bacon bits, and chives on the side. We finished the evening with a slice of Double Chocolate Cake ($10). Our waiter, Louie, was very attentive and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the view, food, and service. Heaters are provided as it is 100% outdoors. As mentioned above, it’s all about the view. I felt the prices were a little steep for dinner considering we were eating outside sitting in plastic chairs, not inside a nice dining room, but we did enjoy ourselves and had a wonderful meal. They limit your dining time to 90 minutes because it is such a popular restaurant but we never felt rushed. I would eat here again, but probably for breakfast or lunch rather than dinner because of the casual atmosphere.
Really nice restaurant, split over two outdoor terraces. Spectacular views of the beautiful beach.Wanted a light lunch and so chose the mahi-mahi tacos. The taco’s themselves were very good, although the accompanying rice, salad etc made this a very filling meal. Personally I found this place to be good value for California.Friendly, professional service; hopefully I’ll be back soon to watch the sunset.
