Restaurant was inspected April 26 2022 and received a failing grade of 74/C with three critical violations. Some cooked chicken had been left at room temperature for hours. Surfaces weren’t being sanitized. And there was no hot water at the kitchen handwashing and bar dishwashing sinks. Among the 11 other violations, food had been delivered that day and boxes of raw meat were left sitting on the wet and dirty floor, while boxes of produce were left in an outside alley next to a grease bin that was attracting flies. The restaurant also needed cleaning and decluttering.

As a 20+ years +resident of Coachella Valley, "back in the day" I patronized Canton Bistro every few months and the food and service was always acceptable. I had dinner there 4/29/22 and after braving the "C" rating on the door, I had a terrible meal. The service was poor, the food inedible, and the whole dining experience was very depressing. I wanted rice with the meal, had to request it twice, and it was brought heaped on a plate -- not in a bowl. There were no condiments on the table where I sat and I could seen none on any of the adjacent tables. The food portions were skimpy, greasy and not delectable. It was an overall sad disappointment.

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years. We returned time and again as the food has been great. It seems to have changed hands again. Rather disappointed this time as first despite having always bought they say they no longer do Egg Foo Young. Second we always order BBQ pork Lo Mein which requires a substitute of ordinary pork for BBQ pork. They messed this up and said they had run out of BBQ pork. This was obviously BS as another dish had it in. They just messed up. They did nothing to make up for this, not even offer the incorrect dish free or discounted. This is not the standard or customer service we expect after previous good results. Please do better!!

I went with a party of four Yesterday niteI knew that it was going to be a rough night. it took 48 minutes to get our food. My wife and I have been going to Canton Bistro for 7 years. The food was aweful.I didn’t know anyone in the restruant.2 of our party took a bite and that was it. They left it on the table. One plate looked like a amazon jungle. I always get the Kung Pow chicken. It was entirely different And tasted different. We will not be going back again. I talked to the shift manager. How can a restaurant go from great to very bad?

The best Chinese restaurant in the valley period✋?? and basically the best on all account food quality, texture, and seasoning? even the interior environment also provides for a relaxing vibe; a great place for a first impression??? an absolute must try before you die?

Wonderful food hot, tasty and prompt every time we’ve been there. Good service too. We’ve been there three times so far in the short time we’ve been in town and I’m already looking forward to number four.

Don't bother calling in. Just show up and dine-in since they seem to cater to those people. Called in 30mins before and placed my order, still waited another 15 to get my food. You would think they want those orders out the door faster to not take up space on the line. I feel bad for the hostess because even she can tell it was a ridiculous wait for a single chicken meal for 1 person.

The service is very good. The food is delicious; however, as much as the service and the food is enticing, I won't return until the 3% surcharge is revoked for people who use debit/credit cards, instead of paying with cash. There is a sign on their menus that this stupidity is effective as of 1/1/22. I have heard of places adding a surcharge when it's under a certain amount (spend over ____ and fee is waived), or if it's a large party, but I've never heard of it being applied to every single order. FYI- not everyone carries cash. What a rip off! I already make a 40 minute drive to go eat there. That's just a slap in the face and unappreciation towards your loyal customers.

My clothes smelled like Chinese food once I got home. Nice decor, but better to do take out so you don’t smell like an egg roll!

Took over an hour for us to get our food. Customers that came in 20 minutes after us got their food before us. They apologized and said it was because they had a large order before ours. There were two of us and the family of 6 that arrived after us got their food first so I know that what they said was not true.
